Wolfey Takes Third Nugget Bridge Live Tournament

Twenty-four challengers faced off today for the title of Champion in the third Nugget Bridge Live Tournament hosted by BioSci. This week, the tournament was held in the Swiss format with each challenger battling players with the same record until an undefeated champion stood tall at the end of five, grueling rounds using standard VGC 2012 rules. Despite some technical snafus, at the end of the day one challenger, no stranger to championships, stood tall as this week’s Champion: two time United States Video Game National Champion Wolfey.

Fresh off his United States Video Game National Championships victory, Wolfey continued to roll through the competition to take home another victory, defeating five trainers to win the prize this week. Wolfey scored victories over LudiImpact, Amarillo, Zach, KiwiDawg7, and The Wolf (not to be confused with the Champion himself). Wolfey’s path to the championship was quite difficult as four of the five trainers he defeated lost only to him. For more on the Pokémon juggernaut that is Wolfey, check out our interview with the Champion himself during the 2012 United States Video Game National Championships in Indianapolis, IN.

Thanks to all who participated in the third live tournament, and congratulations to Champion Wolfey! We’ll see you back next week for another live tournament and another chance to knock Wolfey off of the championship throne! Until then, keep checking our Online Tournaments Forum for more chances to compete against the best of the best.
