The information on Championship Points for the season has been revealed. For the first time, Championship Points will play a part in the Pokémon Video Game Championship Series and will also be the only way of qualifying for the World Championships (this obviously excludes the Top 2 of the 2012 World Championships in each division).

Requirements for Qualifying for the 2013 World Championships

  1. Players Ranked in the Top 12 in North America based on Championship Points
  2. Players Ranked in the Top 16 in Europe based on Championship Points
  3. Players who have an invitation to the 2013 World Championships by placing 1st or 2nd at the 2012 World Championships
  4. Players who reach the Top 4 of the Last Chance Qualifier held on Friday, August 9th at the 2013 World Championships venue

The qualification method for Japan and South Korea are unknown at this time.

Championship Points By Event

There is no Best Finish Limit so you can participate in as many events as you want for as many Championship Points as you get. Please keep in mind that no Championship Points are awarded for lower placements unless the appropriate participation kicker is reached. For example, you will not receive any Championship Points for 17th unless the event has 128 players.

Global Battle Union Tournaments

Regional Championships

National Championships

Regional Byes

Players with at least 4 Championship Points -- a Top 16 finish in an official GBU Tournament or any CP finish at a previous Regional Championship -- will receive a first round bye at their Winter Regional Championship.

    • LF: As Many Near Perfect LEGIT Telepathy Dialgas I Can Get FT: Link In Thread
      By Garchompguy
Hi there I really need a 31/xx/31/31/31/31 (or as close to) LEGIT Telepathy Dialga. I currently have two but I don't want to take a risk at the Sutton Coldfield Regional I am going to. I can offer several of these plus a couple extras (I have nearly every nature of Kyogre and Groudon with IVs)
    • I just witnessed a Smeargle turn around and win a Regionals.
      By StreetSkater
Im sure you guys have heard this enough but I feel as if Smeargle should be getting a bann.. Probably later than sooner, But if you guys watched Chappa Vs Shaun in the Regional finals you just witnessed a heart crushing game. Honestly, It seemed that people in the actual tournament seemed to be more stoked at Smeargle getting taken out then Shaun winning. What do you guys think?
Do you not use smeargle out of pride or are you going to do whatever it costs to win.
