Mrbopper Crowned Second Nugget Bridge Invitational Champion

After a long and hard fought season that culminated in the Nugget Bridge Invitational today, Mrbopper has been crowned the Nugget Bridge Circuit Season 2 Champion. Mrbopper secured his invite to the Invitational with a strong top 4 finish in the Nugget Bridge Major and came into the Invitational seeded fourth. He was able to steamroll his first two opponents TKOWL and Darkeness, beating both without losing a game. Bopper then faced the top seed Baz Anderson in the semifinals and Baz was able to take it to a third game but once again Bopper emerged victorious. This set up the final match of the underdog 15th seed Plusle versus Mrbopper, however Mrbopper was able to end the Cinderella run by Plusle and won an epic 3 game set to claim the 2nd Nugget Bridge Circuit Championship. Matches with commentary, including the finals, will be uploaded to the Nugget Bridge YouTube soon so make sure you subscribe to find out right when it happens.

Congratulations to Mrbopper and the rest of the participants in the Nugget Bridge Invitational and a big thanks to every participant in the Nugget Bridge Circuit Season 2.

It was so close to my predicted Baz vs Plusle final 🙁

Bopper has a well-developed talent for Swords/Dragon Dancing right in the face of quadruple weaknesses and not being burned for it. :D Congrats, and also “thanks for giving fluffy Thundurus some use”. It’s outrageous how underrated he is, coming out of US nats…

I’m starting to think I have a disease or something due to how often I do this. I got really lucky calling Plusle’s switch predictions, honestly.

It sort of feels like when your are stared down by a death-or-death situation, sometimes the best thing to do… is just dance. Congrats to bopper for becoming the new NB Invitationals Champion.

  5. TKOWL says:

Yeah, Bopper is a really, really good opponent. The way he’s able to cycle between offensive and defensive pressure so quickly is quite overwhelming; I was never sold on bulky Excadrill (or Excadrill in general) but hoo boy did he prove me wrong. He wasn’t afraid to sacrifice some of his Pokemon in order to bring others in, and always seems to know the right plays.

It was good fun playing those great games with you MrBopper, congratulations on winning and providing other great games for all of the viewers!
