Power Rankings: Nugget Bridge Major, Round Four

Scott is here again to write mostly irrelevant information about your favorite battlers and also about Fishy. Thanks to Zach for doing all the statistical legwork I’m too lazy to do and also to Rushan for making tables because he won’t let me just use an actual spreadsheet like a normal site.

Name R4 T4 T2 T1 Prev Comments
Wolfey 48 35 23 12 1 De facto favorite Wolfey has had a pretty uneventful tournament so far due to many of his bigger potential threats and opponents collapsing in a fashion I can describe only as “Lionsesque”, but gravy train reaching end with enigmatic DrFidget
Crow 29 18 12 6 2 While there’s a certain vulnerability to being the #2 ranked player while needing to play the #3 in the fourth round, winner of Nugget Bridge Major’s SEC equivalent will be looking good and most voters think it’ll be Crow
Nightblade7000 22 15 7 3 5 Crunch time has officially arrived for Nightblade7000 to try to pick up one of those elusive breakout wins. Can he prove we were predicting him for a reason for the last 864 tournaments? (no)
R Inanimate 25 7 5 5 4 In the hilarious/awkward position of being the only player left in the tournament from Canada playing against the only player left who qualified for Worlds in Canada, Randy will likely attempt to destroy nachocheesenumbers with a moose and/or maple syrup themed team to defend his country’s honour.
FonicFrog 12 10 3 2 10 Kamaal is proving why he’s one of those safe bets to predict to do pretty well every tournament and avoid bringing shame upon your bracket. While no match is easy at this point in the tournament, he is also one of the last heavy favorites this round.
kingofkongs 17 4 2 1 8 When he’s not shouting profanities and inexplicably not being banned from Pokemon battle simulators apparently he’s actually pretty good at battling with Pokemon, too.
Fish 11 5 3 2 9 The secret to Fish’s success? Bothering to actually make his own team and then use it for the first time in several years. Who knew, right?
nachocheese999 8 4 1 1 12 I don’t really know anything about nachocheese so I tried to read Aaron’s match preview for info. Sadly, it was too boring to read, so hopefully this match will be delayed due to Canada being overrun by seceders so I can do some research.
DrFidget 7 4 0 0 14 DrFidget has perhaps surprised some people by doing pretty well in this tournament, showing he can do more than just be creative and also stream Pokemon via iPhone. Heck of a match this week, but would really make a statement if he won.
Fishy 4 4 2 0 11 Facing off with 16th ranked WER, Alison is on course to surpass her nationals performance. However, as Nugget Bridge’s resident Fishyologist I will be supplying WER with useful information such as “you probably shouldn’t choice lock into something that will get you swept”
Evan Falco 3 2 2 0 15 Dark horse pick fake Evan looking strong with one of the more lopsided looking fourth round matches. I continue to tell people to use Cobalion against him, but no one will listen to me.
Mrbopper 3 1 0 0 20 Everything I learned about kids battling members of Team Magma from Pokemon Ruby points to this going badly for bopper, but at least he’ll have cool theme music.
Snake 2 1 0 0 19 Perhaps the most underappreciated player in the community due to being a little younger than most of the other youngins but not as young or adorable as Babbytron, Snake is proving he’s a pretty legitimate threat at any level.
Eiganjo 0 0 0 0 25 What the… Eiganjo actually plays this game? I thought he just recorded videos! Man, do I ever feel foolish…
Rukario 0 0 0 0 26 Faces difficult matchup with FonicFrog, just as my readers face difficult task of checking bracket to combat creeping confusion about how the last three players on this board are alive.
wer 0 0 0 0 32 I didn’t know what to write about wer because I don’t know how he’s still alive so instead I tried to draw a Weedle
