39Team USA vs Team South America International Friendly
This Saturday afternoon, the United States of America will play against Team South America in a 5th Generation International Friendly, right before Pokémon X and Y is released. This is the first time that South America will battle in front of the public as they do not have any official VGC support there. The friendly will showcase some of the best players from both regions in the current format — set to start its final events just a week later at the Fall Regional Championships.
Team South America
- Jorge Baca Elera representing Peru
- José Antonio Vial (HuenteFC) representing Chile
- Matías Roa Carvacho (Boah) representing Chile
- Jheison Romero (TeslaVGC) representing Venezuela
- Daniel Muñoz (BibarelPower) representing Chile
- Andrés Restrepo (Oak) representing Colombia
- Roberto S Cumming (Raichu Abrazable) representing Chile
Team USA
- Aaron Zheng (Cybertron)
- Brendan Zheng (Babbytron)
- Trista Medine (ryuzaki)
- Matt Coyle (PrettyLittleLiar)
- Simon Yip (TDS)
- Zach Droegkamp (Zach)
- Enosh Shachar (Human)
No Ray or Marriland
9/10 will still definitely watch
Hmm, considering that South America doesn’t have actual VGC events, I’m predicting a large win for Team USA, but I could be wrong! Let’s see what you guys got, South America!
Vay bien pincheweyyy!
I would liked to be in the south american team, im from Ecuador
Deku, eso es de México .-.

Human and I will be playing our NPA match at 9:30 AM Pacific / 11:30 AM Eastern to get the stream warmed up for the viewers.
Seeing that South America has/had no VGC backin nice way to put these guys in the spotlight. There only one way to get recognition here and Mr Opportuniy is impatiently knockin at the door
South America has players?
I blame aaron for scheduling this while I have SAT II
Update: We aren’t able to produce today’s friendly so all the matches will be saved and uploaded to NB’s YT. Some players may choose to stream if they have the ability to, you can see all the battles by tonight. I’ll link all the battle videos and results here as it goes on.

I really don’t see why there are 4 guys from Chile, and no mexican players there
Maybe because Mexico is in North America?
HA.
That’s very convenient. Mexico is actually in a vortex where people thinks it’s North America, and some people think is South America.
Technically, it’s Center America. But that doesn’t matter.
I mean, Chile, Peru, Venezuela and Colombia are not all South America. What about Argentina? Mexico? Brazil?
We have seen that at least this 3 countries have a lot of participation in Pokémon, I really think this could have been better if a we had 7 different countries instead of 4 guys from the same one.
LOL… I tried to contact LUVIER (A good mexican player, but i couldn´t). And… also in game 3 (Me Vs. Wolfey) i just missclicked an Eruption :3
LOL
No, not LUVIER please. He will DC before we know what happened
We try contact people from other countries, but we just couldnt… And southamerican team doesnt really mead we have olayers from ALL southamerica
Ok, I get it.
No hate on chilenos, but, 4 Chile Players? This should have been Chile vs USA x)
well abaris is right the south america selection must have players of every country and not just chile xP if in the future exist another vs i’ll try to organizate it better c:
For anyone interested, this is still going on, USA (now team North America with the inclusion of Canadian star Randy Kwa) is up 3-2 vs South America. Enosh is in game 3 of his set, and Randy is about to make this first appearance onto the team in set number 7. All the battle videos that have taken place so far are up there, and will be on YouTube soon!
EDIT: North America wins 5-2, ggs South America! All but one set went to 3 games and there were some pretty great games and teams featured in this one (Wolfe’s team especially), hope you guys enjoy the battle videos.
Hey thanks for all. It was really funny . GG, really well-played from both sides. We just wanna to show that we also have a good level too
I’m pretty sure that everyone thinks Mexico is in North america, since you know, it is.
Also it’s pretty easy to tell why they’re all from Chile, more than likely its a group of friends who want to play competitive and wanted to show themselves as representatives of their entire continent, but since there’s no real reason for a lot of other South American players to start getting into vgc, the selection is obviously going to be very limited.
And as a reminder if you think you have it bad Team Europe was like 80% spanish
Abaris… .-. I told, i couldn’t found more people from another countries. South America + VGC + High level = Really difficult. i just found these guys
Fixed it for you, Gavin
Seriously guys?
I personally apologize for my inability to play in this event. I agreed to play before there was a set date and did not realize that it overlapped with a wedding, kyu.
Ps wolfey sux
Are you sure you’re mexican and not just dumb
i went all the way to wikipedia for this
stop fighting about mexico
