  4. NinjaSyao says:

Great matches and nice to see the creativity here amongst all the popular meta stuff.

Sadly just missed Top Cut (10th place), but it was an awesome experience and tons of fun. Shoutouts to the staff pokemon staff organizing the event as there were a few issues here and there but it felt like the event went a lot smoother than the German National 2014 did.

Also shoutouts to Arash getting mauled by Heliolisk. Electrify Heliolisk ftw!

  5. Dreykopff says:

    2015 is over. We’re playing 2013 now.

  8. NinjaSyao says:

    What about Juniors?

I heard some talk yesterday about there being only 2 players for Juniors, but until someone can confirm this consider it a rumor.

They said 6 Juniors, I think Auberts?

  10. Zekira Drake says:

    Wow, Mega Scizor.

Aside from that, Liepard winning a regional melts my heart ♥ #TeamLiepard

  11. Sogeking says:

Marks last is a Suicune. Gratz to the winners. I went 4-3 with some unfortunate misses. Hopefully I can perform better next time. :]

  12. Really really interesting to see a regional come to europe. I really hope they put more on (3 or 4 would be real nice) as it will really benefit the European scene.

  13. Wilfire70 says:

Congrats everyone, lots of interesting stuff in the top 8. Great to see this meta throwing out some fun, diverse teams!

  16. Artemis Flynn says:

Baz won! With a team that has like 5 or six videos on YouTube about it as well. Congrats Baz!

  17. 000aj says:

The diversity in the top 8 is really interesting, there were 8 different megas in Masters. I’m really curious how this metagame is going to shape in the rest of the season.

  18. Daydreaming Ninja says:

Hello, I am Noah Fuchs and my team was Breloom,Thundurus,Hydreigon,Mawile-Mega,Aegislash,Heatran! 🙂

  19. RevRush says:

Mega-Scizor, Liepard, and Breloom for the win? Mega Metagross and Lapras for second? What an interesting set of pokemon at this tourney. Congrats to the winners!

  20. Cappa says:

All of the top 3 teams look absolutely great, can really see where they were all going in terms of playability and ideas. Real flashback to Baz’s 2013 worlds team with some of the mons there! But the real question: is that Scizor carrying Bug Bite? 😉 The other team that really stood out to me was Jip’s, very unique set of mons, however it looks really solid on paper with all of the discharge boosting potential there. Big props to Mark for winning as well in seniors, certainly showing consistent results across the board.

Scizor was carrying Bullet Punch / Knock Off / Swords Dance / Protect as far as I know

  22. Dawg says:

That Sceptile is so rude, even has his back turned whilst nintendo tried to photograph him -_-

  23. Vilepwn says:

    Yes Barry!
That must feel so good to re-use a previously very successful team, and go even further with it.
    Well done mate.

  24. Loads of fun. Congratulations to Baz! Let’s do this again sometime :)

  25. Baz Anderson says:

I’m really happy to start VGC ’15 with two tournament wins. This Regional especially was pretty tough with lots of good players in quite a condensed field.

I have all the videos saved, so hopefully I’ll be able to get them recorded and onto my YouTube.

Hoping for some Premier Challenges in the UK so I can catch up with CP properly.

  26. drug duck says:

    congrats to baz.
not gonna comment on the teams though, you can win / t4 / t8 any tournament with whatever kind of bs team kids, you just have to choke less than your opponent, be lucky enough in your games and actually get manageable matchups along the way.

rigged tournament though, they gave my friend daflo a round 1 loss just because they made up some bs about him not being there during player seating when he actually was, while two friends of him who were also absent taking a walk to the toilet together with him weren’t given the r1 loss. we were told they couldn’t do re-pairing but later on (r5 I think) this was apparently feasible – I’d like to hear an explanation and that one’d better be good…
not only that this is really tough for daflo himself since he has to start the tournament on the bubble instantly, this also affects how tie breakers (mainly opp opp %) determine (top cut) placings and pairings in the later rounds. for example, after winning round 1 i actually got downpaired (!) against that very daflo who was sitting at 0-1 without doing anything wrong and lost a difficult matchup because of 1-2 suboptimal decisions and a t2 wow miss. this probably destroyed my chances at top16 with a 5-2 record which would have awarded me 10 more cp and in fact I ended up in 19th place (my round 7 opponent massi ended up getting 33rd, missing 20 cp by 1 place). it’s bad enough to see organisational fck-ups like these happening at all but it’s even worse seeing Dutch VG organisers apparently making up their own guidelines about re-pairing and rules at their own discretion.

and while i’m still at it, the guys at the registration desk didn’t allow Misaki, my girlfriend, to enter the tournament with a European version of the game that had Japanese language in-game. I even told her to fill out her team sheet in Japanese in order to make it easier for the registration guys to just compare the data in the battle box and on the sheet but they just made up some bs about how it’s not possible to use a Japanese version of the game (which was not the case, it was a German game after all with its language put to Japanese but they wouldn’t understand that) and that she isn’t allowed to use Japanese language in-game and on the sheet because “it would take us too much time to process registration if everyone did that”. As a premier challenge organiser I know you have to use the corresponding game version of your continent but I haven’t seen anything about the in-game language having to be in a language which is actually understood by the volunteers at registration -_- Luckily, she was able to borrow another game from Amin S and trade her Pokémon over and could participate in the tournament but we need clear rules for cases like these apparently because seemingly even approved Regionals organisers seem to be too incompetent to make correct and reasonable calls. I mean, what if noone would’ve been able to actually borrow her a game? Then she’d just wasted money and time for travelling to Arnhem only to be told “we cannot do this because this would take us an additional 5 minutes”. Either define clear rules or just distribute the tournament software for the games among organisers to lock battle boxes and download the rule set accordingly with a proper timer.

Again with the passive-aggressivism. I get that there’s not many happening within a good distance from you, but the only people that can change that are the TOs that are within your vicinity. Tell them you want PCs, as all the UK TOs that are on NB are already organising and running tournaments and can’t help you with that.

When can we have some Team Reports from you guys? 😀 I’m looking into Keonspy team! 😉
