Now we wait till US nats to see any copy cats
Love the two Chandelure in German Nats Top Cut

Also cool that so many Mega Heracross made it
Congrats to all players who placed well
2 M-Heracross and a M-Sharpedo. I like this C:
Can’t wait for usage stats
ayyy big plus from me for using Aurorus
I think this is the first time I’ve seen more venusaur than salamence. Also a lot of char y. Also like how someone top cut with heatran on a rain team.
Lopunny? Heracross? Slowbro? VENOMOTH? Malamar, Entei, Dusklops… I had fun just looking at these teams
Wow, two guys used Mega Heracross and another two used mega sharpedo and Rhydon.
I always get excited seeing Mega Char X doing well.
I’m looking very forward to seeing what the U.S. will bring to the table in a couple of weeks! It’s been a very interesting set of Nationals so far.
Really appreciate the work put into this, but could you change the R”o”ssler to an “ö” or at least “oe”? cheers
Hey look the entire Pokedex cut European nats!
KABUTOPS!! Please tell me that team’s getting a report.
I think the one with whoever was crazy enough to use Venomoth would be interesting.
Looks like Germany doesn’t like mega mence much haha. Intetesting to see Heracross and Roserade. What can Rosy do in vgc at all being pretty frail?
Roserade can be an interesting scarfer: stuff like STAB Leaf Tornado, Technician HP Fire/Ice and if your matchup’s bad, you can always make the coin toss with Sleep Powder. It’s a very particular solution to very particular problems.
She has potential as a good Fairy check with Technician Venoshock, especially when paired with Prankster Thundurus.
Venoshock doesnt get that Techician boost, since it is 65bp, not 60 or less
What’s wrong with Venomoth haha. I can imagine it being used similarly to Vivillon with it’s amazing support movepool (Tailwind, Rage Powder, Disable) and great abilities, particularly Shield Dust nullifying the effects of Fake Out. It’s typing and BST goes against it but can be fixed with the right team members. I know I’ve defended the use of “standard” Pokemon in the past but on the other side there’s no harm in being creative to get around current metagame threats; look what it did for Blazeking getting high into top cut in two Nationals
Shoot! The ol’ memory’s not what it used to be
Are we gonna ignore the fact that Ditto placed 7th? Duplica would be proud.
Oh, I didn’t notice the Ditto! That’s really cool. Sorry for not seeing you, little guy. I guess you sort of…
… blanded in
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
For those of you who are interested in usage stats, I’ve compiled the data onto the google sheet that I used to collate all of the information, under the ‘Usage Counts’ tab:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1U3-R8UgDhSzc_lfaq66CU1T8JIpNCLvOPcKKxzjpF20/edit?usp=sharing
With regards to the lack of Salamence in Germany, I’m pretty sure that Japanese Sand, where Salamence was the primary mega of choice on the team, did not get significantly popular in the West until after this event occurred, although I have been to sleep since then so my memory might be slightly fuzzy!
And no problem fxelxy, I’ll get to changing the name shortly. If there are any other mistakes with names, let me know!
I still can’t believe people aren’t commenting Jamie’s Ditto.
I’m still very depressed with my Italy experience, but I guess it’s over now.
Congratulations to everyone who made cut.
Not that it matters but I was running double mega, charizard Y and swampert instead of the normal one
dat ditto tho
Congrats to all the winners!
I love the way Dominik played Malamar!!
Congrats!
Im so eagerly waiting for Blaze King7 report. Not only for the ditto, but for the Blaziken+Ferrothorn+Staraptor core plus 3 buddies. I’ve been checking this teams for the past weeks and europian nationals sure love to try diferent things or common ones with diferent strategies
HYPE TOO REAL
CANT WAIT
Sorry, I’m newbie. How work these usage stats? Win – Lose?
If it’s possible to edit, could you put in my username next to my placement (Matthew Shepherd, 35th at UK Nationals)?
Otherwise good job compiling all of this! It looks like it took a lot of effort, and I’m sure it’ll help those US players looking to Nationals in the near future.
Is there a link for those battles?
