Teams from the VGC ’14 Auckland Regionals

New Zealand held its first ever Pokémon Video Game Regional Championship over the weekend in Auckland with 50 Masters, 22 Seniors, 4 Juniors and a full house of spectators. For the tournament format, Juniors had a round robin system with a best of 3 final. Seniors and Masters had double elimination best of three (with a few rounds of best of one in the losers bracket). It was a fun day had by all, and the winners of each division won flights and accommodation for the National Championships in Melbourne, Australia in July. A big thank you to Jamie from Nintendo Australia and New Zealand for providing the information about teams from this event.

  2. TheAshAttack says:

Isn’t the first place masters team just yoshis?

  3. Rusty says:

To me.. all teams like the first one, aside from having one – two pokemon different… look the same. I just look at it and go “standard.. ok.. next”. Hahaha.. lame I know.

  4. Kingthing says:

    Raichu!

  5. Bobby says:

    Went 5-4, funny experience

  6. Thowra says:

Ooooh a mega Medicham! By far one of the best looking megas out there, though I always remained sceptical about its competitive prowess. Nice to see a top cut team with it!

  7. Ramonwsk says:

I didnt knew that Ray Rizzo and Lajo traveled to New Zealand and participated getting the 7th and 10th place… one thing is getting inspired in a top team and other is copypasting it

  8. Narcissus says:

I only counted 2 Amoongus. Is… is it’s dominance one generic teams finally over?
