Power Rankings: Nugget Bridge Major, Round Two

Round 1 and 2 have already been pretty fascinating, with hordes of heavy favorites getting eliminated in the very early rounds. While Pokémon is Pokémon and sometimes that changes the results of battles, it’s really interesting to see how deep the field is in this tournament: every match could very feasibly be won by either side. With three of the top 5 losing since last week, there’s some pretty major shake-ups in the rankings.

Rank Player 1st 2nd T4 Total Analysis Pvs.
Wolfey 12 10 11 33 Ho-hum, just Wolfe on top of another tournament. Path ahead easier with hilarious choke by Cybertron. 1
Crow 6 4 8 18 Jump to 2 Seed more accurately represents his odds in this tournament assuming everyone plays to potential, but his quadrant suddenly looks to be the least favorable 5
Human 5 2 8 14 Looking at significantly better odds than a week ago due to DP67 and Ruben’s eliminations, is now definitely one of the favorites to win it all if he can survive next two rounds. 7
Nightblade7000 3 4 9 16 Jumps due to faith by voters, but if he gets through this round he has difficult foes coming up with PFruit and then probably Crow followed by Huy or R Inanimate 6
Huy 2 3 5 10 Safely on to round 3 in a tournament full of upsets, but things should get tougher for the surviving Ha from here. 8
R Inanimate 5 0 4 9 Has as favorable a path to the end of his quadrant as he could have hoped for considering the players there, but this quadrant looks stacked. 9
FonicFrog 2 1 4 7 Like Human, has vastly improved odds thanks to his ability not to choke round 1. Desperately hopes to avoid Wi-Fi. 12
Dim 1 1 5 7 Had a scare in game 1 of round 1, but potentially has the advantage of several untested players in the next few rounds. 13
Fish 2 1 2 5 Old man Fish slides up to #9, will be interesting to see how he contends with some surprisingly successful lesser names in next rounds. 15
evan 1 0 4 5 Penciled in for the Dropped Out section for next week, but would be hard not to start taking him seriously if he beats both Falco and Alaka. 17
kingofkongs 1 1 2 4 One of the few players already in round 3, but has probably the most difficult schedule remaining of his quadrant. 19
nachocheese999 1 0 3 4 Difficult list of opponents ahead of him, but hey, at least nearly all of them like to post their teams online, right? 20
PFruit 0 1 1 2 Already has ticket into round 3 and so is a safer bet than those below him, but crunch time starts now with Nightblade and Crow around the corner.
Scott 1 1 2 4 Upstart columnist motivated by defeat of Cybertron, hoping to hear of success from assassins sent to remove Snake, Wolfey
Cassie 1 0 2 3 Was undefeated for approximately forever at Nationals, but for some reason everyone seems to have slept on her here…
cakesofspan 0 1 0 1 Speaking of people who did well at Nationals, span is suddenly the fourth most predicted player in his quadrant, though Wolfey approaches.
Fishy 0 1 3 4 Awkwardly placed in Power Rankings directly above current opponent.
MrFox 1 0 2 3 Hey, buddy, at least you know if you win your match you have to jump at least one spot.
Evan Falco 0 2 0 2 I heard he’s not really named Falco, either…
Snake 0 0 1 1 Stuck with a rough schedule from here on out, with cypher and potentially upstart kswas likely to provide challenges before chain of bigger names

On The Bubble: DrFidget (0-0-4), Kinderlew(0-0-1),  Babbytron(0-0-0),  Nickscor (0-0-0), Tyler (0-0-0), wer (0-0-0)

Dropped Out: #2 Zach, #3 Cybertron, #4 RubeNCB, #10 Duy, #11 Darkpenguin67, #14 makiri, #16 JiveTime, #18 PrettyLittleLiar
