Hey, I’m Jake Hwang-Twigg, 15th Place at Seattle Regionals. Great to see some cool teams here, and I can’t wait for statistics.
Also, #MegaAbsolRepresent
Well Zekira Drake is going to be excited.
The guy making the cut with a Mega-Absol. He’s da real MVP of the Regs. Season.
Hey one correction. I played Jerry in Swiss and he had thundy I not Zapdos
1. I’m really glad someone used Yanmega successfully! I had been thinking about using it and I’m glad someone else was able to do well with it. There are some clever strategies out there and I wonder how frequently we will see them in future competitions!
2. Out of all the Pokemon Suicune appears very low compared to earlier tournaments and regionals with only 4 overall making topcut! Has the time of the water beast come?
Congrats to everyone!
Wow… The diversity in Pokémon is uncanny. Although I’m a tad disappointed the guy I played in Athens with Mega Beedrill didn’t make cut.
Thanks for gathering these teams! I love seeing the teams used and really gives an idea of what works in this metagame. Just a slight mess up but I think Sabaku had Thundurus not Zapdos. Anyway great to see rain dominating regionals since last round of regionals only two rain teams cut.
Seeing the top 16 in Washington made me so happy, it’s a shame that Cancerskhan still managed to win. 🙁
I like the variety of teams anyway.
Hey I’m Matthew Blackburn. 12th place GA regionals. It’s awesome to see some of the other teams out there. Also I would like to note I used Mega Camerupt in every game. Camel Tow ftw
looks like rain is on the rise again!

Anyone have the senior’s teams for these?
Yuanhao Li’s Infernape Represent!
Gabby Snyder’s Kingdra was really cool, pretty clever.
If there’s any team report I want to see it’s Jonathan Nevilles (TM Gold).
I have most of the teams from top 8 at Madison. I can pm them to you if you want
Since it hasn’t been done yet I tallied up how many times each Pokemon made top cut
I love Amelia Zoldys team with both Mega Sableye and My favorite poke Mega Gardevoir it
was a really cool team to see and she might have beaten Wolfe if she didn’t bring Hitmontop in
game one.
If anyone needs a spreadsheet of usage, I have one, along with %’s. If you see any errors, let me know

I love the diversity in VGC 2015, the mega evolutions distribution is now even.
You need to change the setting to allow everyone access to your spreadsheet without need permission.
Oh come on braverius… I’m the guy who got 5th at Kansas regionals. My username isn’t calexander… It’s Paragon. Can you make that correction please? Thanks!
I’m sorry T_T
Kind of embarrassing that some of this stuff cut rofl. Thanks for the usage stats, we all appreciate it
I like to think players are getting better at using their Pokemon ‘-‘
Fixed it for ya! Good job with the Top Cut finish and best of luck at Nats if you’re going
On topic of the article, pretty interesting stuff showing up in Top Cut in these past few regionals. Can’t wait to see how the metagame will evolve when Nats rolls around in about a month.
Why the sudden upswing in Rhyperior usage? I was under the impression that Eviolite Rhydon was generally better in pretty much every regard.
What makes Rhyperior suddenly useful?
Hardly. The fact that so many non-standard ‘mons made the cut is a testament to the creativity and skill of the people who use it.

I think Whitney has discovered the best landorus counter with that nidoking. Timid nidoking out speeds adamant landorus and gets ohko d as well. Applause to him for looking out of the box. Congrats to all the top cutters
Landorus-T and Thundurus are the kings of VGC it seems. No surprise, both are extremely good Pokemon.
Mega Kangaskhan is still the queen of Mega Evolutions, but by as wide a margin as last season. Its good to see so many viable megas (I saw a few Mawiles, which makes me quite happy).
Not sure how that is the best landorus counter when it straight up loses to jolly scarf landorus or Assault Vest.
