45Teams from the VGC ’14 Perth & Adelaide Regionals
Greetings from the land of kangaroos and koalas! The Australian Regionals circuit started this weekend and what a weekend it was. There were many exciting battles had and even some chaos in the Perth Regionals with one of the finalists having their save data corrupted! However, the show must go on and it did, with both of the Regionals being double elimination with the first round being a being best of three and subsequent rounds a best of one until the finals for both states’ Masters and Perth Seniors. The Seniors (Adelaide) and both regionals’ Juniors would have round robin format. There was a total of 86 people in Perth and 49 in Adelaide battling it out to see who would be the best in their state! Below are the teams for each division at each Regional event.

Wow, definitely some really creative teams all around! Seeing these Pokemon that nobody would have even considered Top Cut/win regionals is really cool. Congrats to all the winners, I hope to see some reports on how you all used your teams!
I’m very curious to know the purpose/use of the Unown on Matthew’s team from Perth Seniors… wow!
He should have been DQ’ed since Unown isn’t even legal in this format…. SMH Australia.
I knew mega-khan was popular but I didn’t know it was that popular.
Taking this from smogon but it’s probably outdated.
Though it’s probably a joke…
LOL I was so shocked to see it that I forgot that it wasn’t legal…
I think that unown was there because the 6th pokemon was indeed unknown.
Oh.
That’s probably it.
Wow, there are many kangaroos…
I like seeing variety in other Megas tbqh, yes, of course there are many Kangs (and I use one myself), but I applaud people who try different strategies. I run two Megas myself (Kang and Venusaur), btw.
I’ve seen teams on Battle Spot that only bring 5 members, this could be one of those occasions.
Mega absol placing 7th in masters is nice! Glad someone can make use of him in the current meta
Yay Mega Amphy
DrDimentio was T4 at a Adelaide?
There’s a name I haven’t heard in a while, not since the 4th Gen Battle Frontier Topic on Smogon.
Corrupted data in a finals match? That must have been scary…nice he was allowed to use another team to play and win though.
Interested in the three megas teams…. Really “creative” teams
Thanks for the comments everyone. The unown is there cause no one knows what the last Pokémn is :p
I too was really excited to see some different Pokémon outside the normal meta. Hopefully it stirs things up a bit 🙂

Cool I might try and make an article (or Boomguy) about the brisbane and sydney regionals considering this is on nuggetbridge
You should if you do well
oh no thats not what i mean. i am saying me and Boomguy are compiling teams from the brisbane regionals (I’ll compile juniors, seniors and boomguy will do masters)
Ohhh sweet!! Well Boomguy was going to pass on the info to me. So you can do that too if you like?
Wow, Lachlan ran three megas. I can understand two, but half of your team holding mega stones?
Thanks for not crediting me for getting you the Perth teams when no one else would, Rusty
Perth Juniors was indeed “creative”. The winner (Dylan) didn’t have any held items on his Pokémon!
My full write up for the Perth Regionals teams is up on Pokémon Australia: External
Im sorry.. I didnt know you had account here. I did everywhere I posted on facebook (polexlectic, pokemelbourne page and pokemelbourne group).
That Antony dude in Seniors used Starmie…. <3
Maybe I should try writing a report for the first time… although it wouldn’t be too interesting, apart from the moment when my Gengar Disabled an Ice Beam aimed at Noivern so I could set up Tailwind, and my Gardevoir Encoring an Aegislash into Substitute, and accidentally Power-up Punching my Telepathy Gardevoir…
It’s an honour to be remembered by such a famous player as yourself! I’ve always been inspired by your amazing Battle Tower/Subway/Maison streaks.
I just want to add that it was bo1 for the finals in Perth due to time constraints
It was actually a best of 3 but Alister already had a 1 game advantage since he was coming from the winner’s bracket so he only had to win 1 more game to win the whole thing. If you had won game 1 of the series it would have “reset the bracket” and the second game would have been the decider.
I’m guessing it was also like that for Adelaide.
T w
I meant the finals(inc top 4) was still bo1 double elimination overall. If there was more time, I believe it would have bo3.
