You´re noticing that and not the brave Crobat with our favorite move? xD

On a serious note: Some of the choices are really a bit… strange. Still, seeing Pokemon like Maractus or Milotic doing well is pretty cool even though there have been some questionable move choices in some teams. I´m hoping to see some reports or RMTs (here) soon to see the logic behind those because I really don´t get some of them.

  10. The pride when I was the only Masters in the top 16 to use Salamence, Virizion and Raikou :)

  11. Rusty says:

I guess all I can do is send them here or get them to give me a report? I guess that most of the top teams/players have already been snapped up by the main Aus site that deals with Pokemon, but I’ll give it a shot.

I can guess about Maractus though. It is faster than Gastrodon so is able to counter that, has access to Storm Drain and/or Water Absorb so can nullify water moves, and gets a stab move off on Tyranitar. Granted there are better choices and I am not No1. Machop Fan, I’m assuming these are the reasons.

My team is too! :o (Oh yeah Rusty I’m Michael K (and the K should be a Z) ;) )

Yeah I sent them a message about it. I made that error and then people told me things after it was posted even though I asked at the time. I’m hoping it can be fixed :)

  12. FamousDeaf says:

I was regret to not use Conkeldurr or Volcarona in my team for nats but no time to RNG them.

How about Cradily or evo Lileep? I am pretty sure his Maractus have HP rock/Helping Hand/Giga Drain/Protect.

  13. Rusty says:

Cradily is good, but really weak in the meta. With fighting moves everywhere it doesn’t do well at all. Granted in Sand it’s great, with Storm Drain and the Spec Def boost, overall it just doesn’t offer what say Gastrodon does. I guess that Machop chose Maractus cause he liked it? O.o

  14. TKOWL says:

    Maractus got Top 8

    I can finally die happy

Anyone who uses Raikou with great success should be very proud.

  16. Dim says:

Maractus happens to be a storm drain ‘mon that deals very well with Tyranitar using Wood Hammer. It also gets Sucker Punch. I don’t see a good reason to run both it and Toxicroak on the same team, but it’s cool that it did so well.

  17. If Attila B is Attila Baranyay thats pretty awesome. I met him at Apex and hes a pretty great smash player also :D

Actually Maractus was pretty much a filler Pokémon, which saw next to no use in Nats.

Originally Zapdos was in its slot because of Thunder, but I found I rarely used it because it didn’t sync well with the rest of the team. I replaced it with Maractus because of Storm Drain, which allowed it to benefit from Surf, and because it could still hit Water-types hard using Giga Drain.
