Pokémon Get☆TV Talks to Players at the 2014 World Championships

Pokémon Get☆TV was at the 2014 Pokémon World Championships, just like its predecessor Pokémon Smash in 2013. The children’s morning show runs very early every Sunday in Japan and has also been the source of news updates for the past few titles in the series! This year, Pokémon Get☆TV’s Worlds episode included quite a bit of footage as the story of the episode featured their correspondent on a quest that eventually led him to three different world champions to bring their Pokémon back to Japan!

The episode features many members of our community including Nugget Bridge co-founder Huy, one of our trusty community translators Hibiki, 2013 world champions Mean and Babbytron, three-time world champion Ray, and of course all their friends around them as the trades take place. A big thanks goes to Amanatsu who subtitled and cut the highlights you see above.

I had one job, and I screwed up. I called Shokotan Shokochan the first time. Dropped all my spaghetti

  2. R Inanimate says:

Thanks for the subs for the video clip, Amanatsu.

I was pretty surprised to see them do this on Pokemon Get, since the last few times the Sunday show has done some worlds coverage, it mainly focused on the experiences of the Japanese players who participated during the event.

  3. Ok, I have to say, this video cracked me up. Especially when he talked to Ray. His reactions were so funny. Also thanks for the subs! :)

  6. Scott says:

Man, I wasn’t nearly as carefully out of camera view during Huy’s segment as I thought I was. Also carefully in the background: US NATIONAL CHAMPION ALEX OGLOZA!!!! and also Duy.

Not shown on TV: Some guy coming out of one of the buildings asking what the Detroit was going on. i probably should have smoothed that one over for them…

Also, Arash trading Amoonguss is so perfect, lol. Well played, well played.

Long story short, Brendan didn’t have his own DS for world’s.

    Interesting.
    I was just wondering. x3

Since it seems strange for someone to go to World’s and not have a DS.
I’ll assume he forgot it or something.

I mean it’s possible that he and his brother decided to switch names. ~o3o~

  10. Cometkins says:

There are few situations where I would describe my reaction to them as ‘tickled’ but this video definitely left me as such. Absolutely adorable and fun little segment!

  11. break says:

ha, I remember seeing this crew around all morning.

    * the entourage was real *

didn’t realize they were trading pokemon with people >_<"

thanks for the video share…was wondering where they were uploading it to.

(Secretly I stole it so I could end up on TV)

This video made me smile and giggle like an idiot and I lost count of how many times I’ve watched it because I enjoyed it so much. Absolutely incredible.

  14. JHufself says:

That story about Brendan’s DS reminds me of a similar fate happening to me with my first Crystal Version… Anyway, I was really close to being traded once. They chose one person ahead of me in the registration line and he declined!

Also, the guy’s energy is really infectious, I must say.
