Contest: Win a Copy of Pokémon X and Y
On October 12th, 2013, we will enter the sixth generation with the release of Pokémon X and Y. To celebrate we’d like to give away a copy of each game much like we did with the release of Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2. Like last time, we’ll be giving away one copy on our forums and another copy on Facebook and Twitter.

What is your earliest memory of a multiplayer Pokemon battle?
Our comments section and forums are linked so you only need to reply once on either location and it will automatically sync. With Pokémon X and Y, Game Freak is drawing heavily from its rich history so we would love to hear more about yours! One entry will be randomly chosen from the thread and that player will win their choice of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y.

Another winner will be chosen randomly from all entries received on either Facebook or Twitter. The winners will be contacted on Monday, October 14th, 2013 with a digital download code for the game.

My first multi battle was against my buddy ed wjo hacked his red to get mew. I still wrecked his face with my scyther.
i remember battleing a good friend of mine when i was about 10 years old. i had sapphire and he had ruby version. i don’t remember who won the battle but that’s not as important as the friendship that we formed.
2006 vs. my friend Agnes in elementary school (my highest leveled Pokemon was a lv. 66 Pelipper. She had an older brother who “got” her Mewtwos and Suicunes)
I’m old enough to remember playing with my daughter on red and blue way back at christmas in 1999,and using the link cable to evolve haunter into gengar she loved how scary gengar looked and the fact it was a ghost, sadly she has long since left pokemon behind but i have been hooked since way back then. In fact i have still got the gameboy colour’s and cable plus red blue yellow i will post a photo later, too busy playing pokemon x
When I was 11 years old, I had a friend who was the best pkmn player of our school and when i got my copy of ruby, we started to play vs each other and i crushed him 12/12 times :_: jaja mewtwo was my man
My first time was with my Firered copy playing against a friend with Leafgreen. It was good fun as we played with lotsof different sets within the same level range to be fair, I think I lost more than I won though…
Beating a friend with my Blastoise after and agrument over which better Blastoise or Charizard unfair advantage maybe but he should knew Blastoise rules!
I was like 6 years old, and I remember having Pokes like Machoke and Kadabra. I wanted so much to evolve them, and with a help of my friend he made that possible. We battled a few times, and wow, Alakazam is just amazing.
The first time I battled someone was my brother shortly after I got pokemon Pearl. I had a piplup lvl 10 and he had 5 crappy pokemon(geodude, zubat, etc.) at lvl. 5 and a dialga(I didn’y know he had it until he sent it out last). I breezed through the first 5 easily but when I got to dialga, dialga used roar of time and missed. I did one HP of damage to it with bubble. He tried a second time and missed(I was laughing pretty hard at that point). Then he finally attacked and I was awed by it(keep in mind that I was 8 or 9 and It was my first time doing a wireless battle. I didn’t think battling other people you know was possible. and i got gold, emerald and leaf green from my bother and he lost the link cable)
I remember bringing my gameboy and linking with my friend to battle. I lost.
