First Details About Pokémon X & Y WiFi Test Tournament
We’ve been waiting for information about this season’s online tournaments for quite some time now as Championship Points from the events were the factor in who did and didn’t make the World Championships in 2013. We might be a bit closer to that information as the Japanese Global Link has just revealed some information about the test tournament they announced mid-2013.
The Pokémon X & Y Test Tournament will take place from the evening of Friday, February 21st to Monday, February 24th. As mentioned last year, anyone who met the minimum number of battles to be included in the standings of the 2013 Global Showdown and weren’t disqualified will be eligible to play. You must have your Pokémon X or Y card registered to the same Global Link account that was used for the 2013 Global Showdown. Additionally, sign-ups will open on January 31st to allow the first 10,000 participants to join in as well.
The Pokémon Company apologizes for the delay in the tournament. The ruleset will be announced at a later time, presumably when the page for sign-ups goes live on January 31st.

Dragon Rage all the things.
Anyone who has had to wait to be confirmed for the tournament heard anything?
I have not, but looking at External it seems that we probably won’t hear anything until the 19th or later:
That’s odd, I definitely remember it saying February 14 the last time I checked.
Hm, I got my notification today but haven’t been on Pokemon-gl in awhile.
So, how do these types of tournaments work?
Also how do I “download the regulations”?
right, so if you go into your 3ds game, open up the battle spot and download your player id, and then your good to go until the tourney!
National Pokédex No. 001 through 718.
(Two or more Pokémon sharing the same Pokédex number can be used.)
WHAT
Did anyone actually prepare a team specifically for this tournament? I started working on chansey earlier today but then I got lazy so I ended up using a random team with evs meant for lvl 50 pokemon.
It has begun btw.
With no prizes or anything of substantial value on the line, its really hard for anyone to invest time building a team specifically geared towards this. Or at least, that’s my thoughts on it.
I’ve heard theres no species clause. So supposedly there was a team of six Flareons going around.
Had I known that I would have ran a team of six Talonflames.
Four Gale Wings and two Flame Bodys for Quick Guard. It would have sucked but would have been fun priority bbirding everything with two birds.
Good thing there is a limit on how many pokemon can be mega evolve or else some people would use 6 mega kangs.
