Pokémon Leagues Begin Distributing Event Pokémon

Discouraged by your local Pokémon league only giving out trading card game rewards? Well, that’s looking to change starting this season! If you play in the Aspertia City season – so right up until November 25th, 2012 – you’ll be eligible to download a Scizor from the Pokémon Global Link! This Scizor will come with Steel Wing, Pursuit, and probably its hidden ability: Light Metal. A little disappointing from a competitive standpoint, but hopefully this will improve in the future.

The actual distribution will happen between December 20th, 2012 to February 21st, 2012. The promotion will likely be tied directly to your Pokémon Global Link account so no promo code would be required – though we may be wrong. You will need to have a Pokémon Black, White, Black 2, or White 2 game card linked to your account to be eligible. Don’t forget you can also earn cool rewards like badges and this badge case from attending Pokémon league events!

If you’re unfamiliar with Pokémon leagues, they are regular local gatherings held in public places across the world. Players earn points for playing battles in both the TCG and video game. Most are very TCG-focused at the moment, but we may slowly see some video game participation yet! Of course, we won’t see that until those of us well-versed in the video game start participating too! How do you think we can improve our local league experience with regards to the video game?
