United States and Canadian Nationals Confirmed for Indianapolis, IN, and Toronto, ON

The official Pokémon Company International website has released the first prize details for TCG competitors. Of note for us VGC players, this also confirms the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN, and Toronto, ON, as the locations for the 2013 United States and Canadian National Championships, respectively. From TPCi:

“A Travel Award (including a parent or legal guardian for players under 18) to the 2013 U.S. National Championships at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana, OR the Canada National Championships in Toronto, ON.* “

You may also be wondering what that asterisk is doing there. Well, looks like good news to players close to Canadian Regionals in America and American Regionals in Canada. From TPCi:

“Travel awards and byes are awarded to the winning Canadian or United States player and are awarded to the National Championships corresponding to the player’s nationality.  A Canadian player is therefore eligible to win a travel award to the Canadian National Championship from an event hosted in the United States, and vice versa.”

This is big news for players on the border as they can now participate in the Regional that’s closest to them regardless of nationality.

The release of this information for TCG means that more VGC details are on the horizon, and Nugget Bridge is your source for up-to-the-minute VGC information.
