I listened to this last night. I enjoyed hearing it all the way through. Great work!
To answer your question/clarify the confusion, I was the highest ranked 7-2 coming from Swiss as 8th seed.
You said in the commentary that Beau had Substitute on his Scizor, but he didn’t have Sub on any of his Pokemon. He did use Flying Gem Acrobatics if that’s what you’re thinking of though.
Smith in a podcast drinking game
If Smith says “phenomenal”, drink.
If Smith says “I talked to him afterwards”, drink.
If Smith stops talking but ends in such a tone of voice that you think he’s going to say something else, finish your drink.
All stuff I shall try to improve upon, but for our first time together I think this came out rather well!

Top 16: Randy Kwa (Oregon regional champion, 9th seed, 4th Place finish)
10th Place Finish
Lost to Demitri Camperos (four Sand Veil avoids and a consecutive Protect, still got him down to just Garchomp)
Lost to Richard Ashby (used Lajo’s sun team) because he outplayed me
