[NBR] Under The Bridge 02: VGC ’13 World Championships

There’s no water under this bridge, only podcasters! Listen as hosts Alan Sutterlin (Dubulous), Matt Sybeldon (bearsfan092), and Oliver Valenti (Smith) discuss their experiences at the World Championships in Vancouver (or in front of their home computer, in Matt’s case). Also in this edition, the crew recap their favorite moments from the season, take a look at how Mega Evolutions could effect the upcoming season, as well as speculate on some as-of-yet unannounced Megas.

The embedded video is the first Under The Bridge

  2. TheSoyboy says:

Thanks for the shout-out for Team Singapore in the beginning! There were far more than just two guys actually, though the rest of us preferred to keep a low profile in the back of the crowd.

  3. Dubulous says:

    Thanks Cybertron. Fixed.

I need to shut the yams up! Wow.

  4. TKOWL says:

Iron Tail isn’t a TM in Generation 5.

Also, even if MegaLucario had 140 attack or something and since it can’t carry a Fighting Gem, 252+ Atk Adaptability Lucario Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Metagross: 128-152 (82.58 – 98.06%) — guaranteed 2HKO.

  5. Smith says:

Just want to reiterate that if you guys have any comments or constructive criticism for myself or the cast as a whole, that we’d love to hear it! We had a lot of fun with this one, hope you guys enjoy it.

  6. Dreykopff says:

I always have to smile about that name, since we describe homeless as people sleep under the bridge in German. :D

I think the “European fast metagame” vs. “American defensive metagame” is a 2012 cliché at best, since dedicated offensive styles were pretty typical for NA this season, imo, with them winning a lot of Regionals and also the Master National. (However, what I’m really not sure if I get it is how Japan’s metagame went rather dull compared to the rest of the world, when Japan themselves actually used to be that one country were basically everything was possible. Is it the qualification system’s fault and do the players put less effort into the game because of that? It’s just odd with the past in mind.)

  7. Pendlz says:

Really loved listening to the video, you guys keep it fun and layed-back while also covering a lot of topics so it’s that good mix of fun and informational. When NPA picks up I would love to get more videos talking about the season like how each team is doing, trades that are happening, predictions and whatnot. Not sure if that’s something you guys were planning on doing but I for one would love it!

  8. plaid says:

I know what I’m talking about.
