02013 International Challenge January Details
There’s no rest for Pokémon trainers! The 2013 International Challenge January is the first WiFi tournament of the year and will take place the weekend after the VGC ’13 Winter Regionals. You’ll be able to sign up starting on January 17th, 2013 up until the competition starts on January 25th. You’ll then enter the ladder and try to get as high a ranking as possible before the competition is over on January 28th, 2013.
This is the first of four International Challenge tournaments scheduled before the 2013 Pokémon World Championships. It is also the first tournament being used as a qualifier for Korea’s National Championships. With the addition of the Japanese and Korean players, you should see a huge increase in players and competition! To adjust for this, the Junior division is now separated from the Senior division.
Please keep in mind that if you do not have a Player ID attached to your Global Link account you will not receive Championship Points. Please log into your account and then go to the following link to get a Player ID if you do not already have one from a live event. Keep this Player ID with you for any Pokémon tournaments you enter including this weekend’s Regional Championships, the 2013 International Challenges, and even sanctioned grassroots tournaments like the Penn State Pokémon Tournament.
One other change you’ll notice is that only one game needs to be completed to receive your Jaboca Berry. This should introduce many more people into the rankings!
