2013 Spring Friendly
If you’re tired after the competitive nature of the 2013 Spring Regionals and International Challenge in April, you’ll be glad to hear that the next event will feature a significantly more relaxed experience! With no Championship Points up for grabs, the 2013 Spring Friendly is a singles tournament featuring only Unova Pokémon and no banlist aside from that. That’s right, from the looks of things, you can use that Meloetta you picked up recently! Remember that unlike the Doubles format we play a majority of the time, the Singles format only allows 3 of your 6 Pokémon to be used!
Registration goes from May 9th to May 16th with the actual tournament taking place from May 17th to 20th.
Registration Period
00:00 UTC, Thursday, May 9, 2013, through 23:59 UTC, Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Competition Dates
00:00 UTC, Friday, May 17, 2013, through 23:59 UTC, Monday, May 20, 2013.
Ruleset
- Battle Format: Single Battle
- Pokémon will be levelled down to Level 30
- Players may use only Pokémon found in the Unova Pokédex of Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2.
- Pokémon may not hold the item Soul Dew.
- Pokémon may not use the move Sky Drop or Dark Void during battle.
Prizes
- All players who end up on the final rankings (are not disqualified and have at least 1 match recorded as played) will receive Black Kyurem & White Kyurem C-Gear skins.
Age Divisions
- Junior & Senior Division: Born in 1998 or later
- Master Division: Born in 1997 or earlier
Requirements
You must be using a Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 game card to participate in these tournaments.
Disconnections
You must play 5 full games to be ranked on the ladder and receive your C-Gear skins.

I’m PR777 from Texas I have the standard trainer Message i’m currently at a 1571 rating
1-0-0 so far. Let’s see how many DCs I get compared to Masters.
6-0-1 (DC during Trainer Card)
Debating if I should try to lower my DC% by playing more to ensure I get muh skins.
Here are my results so far:
7W – 2L – 3DC, rating of 1571
All 3 dc’s were when I were about to win, and I had already just barely beat 곶만 before, but his Whimsicott got the better of me during our second match when he took out my special attacker and started spamming Cotton Guard with Prankster. It’s interesting to see the variety of countries in this tournament.

Well, I’m now at 10W – 2L – 3DC, rating of 1601.
I’ll probably just stop since my rating is over 1600, and I want those skins. My dc rate is only 20%, so I’m hoping that will be low enough.
Conkeldurr has been my lead in all of the battles. I’ve managed to 3-0 a lot of teams just based on prediction and Drain Punch’s healing. Rock Polish Terrakion has come in handy. Thundurus has paralyzed things, making sure I can outspeed them when I need to. Kyurem-B just plows over everything that isn’t a Steel-type or Whimsicott.

Oh, the battle I just had. Yeah, Ice Burn is an awful move, and I realized I forgot to switch to Ice Beam. I feel like I’m more autopiloting than actually battling. You deff had the upperhand from the start though, so gg

Um, no, I made this team a few days ago.
I’m glad I haven’t run into any Durants with Entrainment. Those things are so annoying.
Currently 10-0-1. I’ve been seeing a lot of Gliscor, which are pretty cheeky when they Poison Heal stall. Other than that, Crobat, Bisharp, Kyurem-W, and Terrakion have been pulling their weight for the team.
So did this turn out to be 4v4 or 3v3?

I have had a terrible time with my connection, although I don’t think it is actually MY connection. Has anyone else had problems with constantly being DCed at the Trainer Card, during sending, or even just searching? My signal never seems to drop below 3 bars, but the amount of time this has happened is ridiculous. I should have lost 2 of my 6 disconnections that happened during the game or during sending, but they didn’t get counted (I would rather take the loss here)!
4 of my first 5 games were DCs, so I’m now at a stage where I will have to keep playing (and probably lose on purpose) to get the C-Gear Skins. But sometimes even when I lose a disconnection occurs! Haha

Okay, it seems like every game I play now, as soon as the sending process starts, I get disconnected from Wi-Fi. It’s happened twice when I lost and 6-7 times when I won (I’ve also lost 2 other games that got counted and won 15 for the record). I’ve reset my internet and set up my connection again. I’ve done multiple tests and it keeps working, along with everything about the tournament working except for the sending process. Does anyone have any idea what’s wrong? I’ve also had a LOT of DCs as soon as I get matched up with an opponent.
I might have to quit because of the DCs but I really wanted the C-Gear Skin prizes. At this stage I can’t even forfeit to lower my DC rate because I would still be DCed anyway lol
Currently 8-4-6 with about 1550+ points. My team is a pretty trollish team that abuses Prankster on a whole new level… xD
Regardless, the team itself is pretty badly made, especially because I built it to relax before Milan so it´s most likely full of poor decisions and minor mistakes… (It´s Archeops/Magnemite/Riolu/Nosepass/Espeon/Hydreigon in case you´re wondering). The most embarissing part, though, is that I´m using 2 FEAR mons but just found out that their levels will be elevated to 30, so I´m basically having 2 dead slots… Not only that but Priority is just more commonplace than I thought and removing the users for Riolu to have a field day is pretty hard if I can´t switch Riolu without making it useless…
Regardless, I´m having fun which is all that matters!^^ I´ll probably go for 1650 (1600 if the first one should be too ambitious with a team like this…) and then call it quits. I don´t mind getting DC´d on often, mainly due to me not caring much about the C-Gear skins because I usually forget picking up the mons that I sent to the DW anyways which is why I almost never do it! xD
I’m on 1733 rating after 27 battles
Didn’t expect myself to take this tournament semi-seriously. Currently 12-2-3. Both of my losses were from South Korean players who dominated me cool stuff like Scarf Victini V-Create, Scarf Kyurem-B Fusion Bolts (which Thundurus-T cannot block with Volt Absorb), and Flame Charge Reshiram. Other than that, I wish I had a Zekrom instead of lolcustapgross.
