Coverage of the 2014 United States Pokémon National Championships

The VGC ’14 United States National Championships have arrived! For those not attending the event, there will be live coverage of the event by both Nugget Bridge as well as The Pokémon Company International. As always, keep an eye on our Twitter feed where — much like during the Regional Championships earlier in the season and the National Championships in Europe — we’ll be doing our best to update you no matter where you are on the status of players.

Additionally, don’t forget to tune into the stream on Saturday and Sunday with live commentary by Scott, Evan, Duy, and Justin! They’ll be covering the last few rounds of Swiss, Top 8, and Top 4 on Saturday starting at Noon Eastern followed by the finals for all three divisions on Sunday which starts at 2PM Eastern.

Watch live video from Pokemon on www.twitch.tv

Pokémon’s website should also have coverage of the tournament all weekend long!

    dat lapras
he could have won game 2 by using freeze dry on politoed but instead he used ancient power twice probably trying to rise it’s stats…

Ice Shard, Freeze Dry, Ancient Power and Hydro Pump with an assaul vest equipped?
I would love to know it’s ev spread, i’m just curious.

As was pointed out by the commentary, it’s more likely that Lapras was trying to catch Talonflame on a switch.

Pretty interesting, finals should be good.

  4. My son, Phillip, took 19th for juniors… But I just don’t understand how the system of determining top cut makes sense… I feel for the little guy because just like most of the kids that made top cut, he had a 5-2 record. It just doesn’t sit well. :(

We’ve had a great time in Indy this weekend and he is looking forward to the multi battle with his new pokebud, so it’s great he has already bounced back!

It’s based off of something called ‘resistance’, or basically how well the people he lost to did. The others with 5-2 may have lost to someone who went 7-0 or 6-1, therefore boosting their restitance and putting them higher on the rankings.

I get “how” it works, I just don’t get why it works.

with that many people attending these events they have to do it that way. i really dont see a better way to determine who gets to topcut….

Is there a place where you can re-watch the streams somehow? The fights all took place during the late hours here so couldn’t watch them :(
