Next WiFi Championship Points Opportunity: 2013 International Challenge Announced

The Japanese PGL has announced the 2013 International Challenge which will be the first international Wi-Fi tournament of 2013. So far only the Japanese PGL has an announcement, but it’s likely that non-Japanese PGL will get an announcement after the VGCS Winter Battle ends. The format will be the usual GBU doubles, and players will be split into Junior, Senior, and Master divisions. Finally, as a thanks for playing every player who plays at least one valid match will receive a Jaboca Berry on their PGL account. Registration opens at 13:00 JST January 18th, 2013 and closes at 23:59 JST, January 24th, 2013. The tournament will run from 00:00 JST, January 25th, 2013 to 23:59 JST, January 28th, 2013. The tournament is open to Black 2 and White 2 only.

This tournament will also count for Championship Points and Byes. It’s the first tournament to do so and include Japan — increasing the playerbase quite a bit! This is also the first time players outside Asia will be split up into all three divisions while playing over WiFi.

Note: The time the tournament begins outside Japan may be different as has been the case with previous International Challenges.
