Will this definitely affect pokecheck? I’m not sure if Nintendo’s servers need to be running at all for you to be able to access it.

  2. Calm Lava says:

As of May 20th all the online features of bw2 and back games will be disabled, which means you can’t pokecheck stuff anymore! :((
Before that date, in case you don’t already have this stuff in your game, it would probably be a really good idea to get the following things to make your life easier

    • perfect dittos of each (useful) nature
    • at least 1 ditto a with all 0ivs
    • legendaries/ event Pokemon you don’t have on your cart
    • synchs for breeding
    • Apricorn ball Pokemon

If you don’t have those guys on your carts by may 20th you’ll have to go through the trouble of getting them the regular way

  4. Necrocat219 says:

It stops is from using Pokebank I’m guessing?

  5. R Inanimate says:

oh, so I actually have to ask some people for a few legendaries now instead of procrastinating endlessly on it? I suppose this day was bound to happen eventually.
I suddenly feel less wanting of a restricted ubers VGC year now…

Unless xfr can figure out how the emulate the Nintendo servers, Pokecheck for 5th gen and earlier WILL be stopped.  The games talk to Nintendo’s servers before connecting to the (fake) GTS.

  7. Politoed Punch says:

This was bound to happen. Nintendo is cleaning out the closet so they can focus on there 2 latest developments (3DS/WiiU). It is sad however that the Pokémon Bank/Transfer is close to being useless, until a new title (post X/Y) is released. Good bye certain egg moves?

I hope they keep it online, since everyone sensible just downloaded the .pkmn files, and you’ll still be able to do that.

So sad I’ll never live to see to see 2131 pass and my shoutbox ban rescinded. I think I got it by having a go at the staff for that overzealous “off topic” rule. :D

  9. well people who have a r4 card aswel as an game cart can still gen dittos and get events legends so this doesnt really affect me

  10. MSK says:

So if I need to find my SID’s for my latest playthrough’s I need to upload a battle video soon?
Better get on that as I still need Shiny Tornadus / Thunderus or 2 for my all shiny dex collection :)

  11. Crunchy says:

Surely this won’t affect Bank as well?

  12. FamousDeaf says:

Surely this won’t affect Bank as well?

Correct, this won’t affect poke transporter and bank because of 3DS title.

  13. Wow, that really sucks. I’ll need to get another DS in order to PokeGen Pokemon to my DsTwo to transfer to my legit White 2 and then to Y… not to mention no more online Brawl/Project M :(

  14. Dragoon124 says:

Time to get a .pkm file for every single evolution line, I could always just edit the files with pokegen, so I’m not too worried.

  15. Szarkai says:

Well I’ll just have to borrow my husband’s DS Lite and take my R4 back for a while. So doesn’t effect me since I have a DS Lite and 3DS for whatever needs.

Sucks for people with only retail carts. But hey, just contact those of us who still have a DS, R4, and 3DS. We should be able to do local wireless trades still onto our retail carts then Pokebank. No worries. A collection of everything will still be available thanks to hackers.

  16. Kirika says:

Wow what a bummer. They really want you to buy the new stuff. I think this is dumb for Wii since the new Mario kart and Smash brothers are not out yet for wii u.

  17. DaftMonk says:

Part of this is saddening because this means no more Gen 5 matches (besides showdown), but I’m happy more people will be forced to play the game legit now, including myself (although it would definitely be easier to get perfect event legendaries lol).

  18. shinryu says:

Tbh, RNG is so simple in BW/2, I really never did get why people felt compelled to bother with stuff like Pokecheck. Even gen 4 isn’t so bad if you have time to waste and are willing to learn.

This affects Mysterious Dungeon and Conquest series as well I assume? It’s minor, but Mysterious Dungeon let you send rescue requests or whatever right? And Conquest let you download Pokemon and some other things I think?

I’ve actually been trying to RNG in Pokemon White 2, but I can understand why people think it’s hard. It’s so frustrating trying to find my parameters because they just keep being random things or not showing up at all. I’ve tried it with my friend’s DS Lite (I only own a 3DS XL), and it still isn’t working. I saw somewhere that if you have done key transfers you need to check the “Memory Link” box, but I don’t really know if this is true, as I have only done a few tests with the DS Lite. But from this experience (which I could really use help with, please…) I have learned that simple things like RNGing are always harder than they seem for me (and probably others too) for some reason, and can understand why people use PokeCheck.

  20. shinryu says:

Eh I guess BW2 is technically harder in that its more random, come to think of it I did most RNG in BW while only doing a few in BW2. Then again I heard it was harder on the 3DS in general compared to good old phat DS.

  21. I actually think I just figured it out. I was using the wrong time format (I was using 12 hour format…) and just changed it and got consistent values. But just the trouble was probably enough to turn a lot of people away, especially because 3DS XL is not supported and you can’t RNG for a Metang or Ditto in BW2. It’s understandable why a lot of people would just not want to go though the trouble.

  22. And having up to 10 different Timer0 values is just so bad when compared to the very few BW get.

  23. zakzedd says:

I don’t know how to quote, hope that is right.

Despite this, mario kart wii u come out only a week after the shutdown, not so bad.

  24. Retro says:

Well that sucks. I can’t believe they’d cut online for Gen 5 so fast. It really really feels like Unova got no chance to shine before Kalos came along now.
We’ll still be able to transfer through Pokebank right? Eh, not that it matters. All the legitimate Legendaries I have are hacks according to Pokebank. -_-“

  25. Bosseidon says:

If you have an action replay card you can still transfer pokegen mons to black and white without GTS, can’t you??????

  26. hoult66 says:

So I will still be able to transfer pokemon from gen 5 to 6 no problems.

  27. mattj says:

    Yes. Poketransporter is unaffected.
