21Pokémon 2014 World Championships Website, Stream Schedule, & Aegislash Distribution
The online hub for the 2014 Pokémon World Championships has launched and this year it will be taking on a new form. Rather than the style used in the past several years, it looks more like what we had during the US National Championships with the focus on the embedded video stream, Twitter feed, and image feed! The hub will also feature online pairings, standings, news updates, interviews, and team info through the weekend straight from the media team at Pokémon.
Stream Schedule
The stream this year will start with the Opening Ceremonies at 9AM on Saturday, August 16th and continue on to cover the Swiss rounds of the video game. We expect the Top 8 and Top 4 match to also be on stream before it finishes off the night with some TCG games.
On Sunday, we’ll have the Top 4 TCG Masters Division match at 9AM before moving onto the finals of each age division. Once TCG is over, we’ll move to the video game finals of each age division starting at 3PM and end off with the closing ceremonies at 6PM.
It will definitely be a weekend you want to block off time for with over twice as many battles to watch as last year!
Aegislash Distribution
This year’s event distribution is actually the evolved form of a Pokémon on the logo: Aegislash. Holding a Sitrus Berry and with the moves Shadow Ball, Flash Cannon, King’s Shield, and Wide Guard, this Aegislash should be a well-sought after capture for those who’ve wanted to test out Wide Guard without the harsh breeding chain involved!
Stay Tuned
Remember to keep an eye on both the Worlds hub as well as Nugget Bridge for the latest information throughout the World Championships! We’ll be updating our Twitter account as well as we have in previous years.

I’m glad Rushan did this news post this year, since last year’s version of this news post was that time I accidentally turned the CMS into a spambot.
Interesting to see the stream schedule. Nice chunk of VGC on Saturday, there.
Everybody wants to know… that aegislash, will it have a dream ball? 🙂
Looking forward to checking out the Interactive team and deck lists on Pokemon.com!
Looking forward to the stream and some interesting matches. Good luck to everyone participating.
Just a minor error in this news post: Aegislash will have Flash Cannon and not Iron Head, so you might wanna fix that.
Looking forward to Swiss being streamed this year. Should be fun!
P.S. This will be in a cherish ball because it’s an event Pokemon. Apparently that’s hard for some people to figure out so I felt the need to clarify that.
The energy’s high; I can’t WAIT for this!
The streaming times seems abit odd to me…
And that Aegislash… It would of been hilarious if it was in a Dream Ball
But 1 can only dream
Does the Aegislash come with any IVs or a set Nature or anything?
Is it true, that team infos will be given out while swiss is still running?
They might. If so, it seems like they will be focusing on players who are willing to have their teams revealed. They might also reveal the team of the finalists in advance but both sides will be scouting the other side anyways.
I was so hoping the distribution Aegislash would be in a Dream Ball.
yay more battles. in a few years i swear we’ll have a well done stream and a baby eSport, you listen to me.
Likely not given the feedback thread. I assume stuff would be released around top cut though. You want team info out before the tournament is over and people shift their attention away.
They haven’t in the past.
Bwah. Just after I finish breeding Myself a Wide Guard Ageislash they just start handing them out for free. (While I did end up breeding a Shiny Mudkip while setting up egg moves so I have no complaints)
“Be sure to visit our External, where we’ll have live video-streaming of featured matches, including every final match, commentated by Pokémon experts. While you’re on the World Championships hub, be sure to check out the interactive deck and team lists, player interviews, updated standings, and more. The World Championships hub and streaming will be in English only, but we invite fans from around the world to tune in to the live stream to see their favorite players compete.”
First to get me a shiny cherish ball aegislash gets my firstborn
It’ll probably be shiny locked unfortunately. That seems to be the trend these days.
Interactive does not necessarily mean during the competition
The whole is to have stream watchers be able to look up your move sets and items…
Actually, the item on the Aegislash was a Weakness Policy, for anyone who was wondering. Thanks for the schedule information though!
