Zach Takes Fourth WiFi Live Tournament of the Nugget Bridge Circuit

The Fourth Wifi Live Tournament of the Nugget Bridge Circuit occurred this Sunday. An astounding twenty-nine players came out this week to participate in this single elimination, best of 1 tournament using the current VGC modified format. Even with the larger than usual numbers, the tournament still managed to end in only 2 hours with Zach emerging as this week’s Champion and earning 100 NBC points for his achievement.

Zach started the tournament against pletty in round 1, and after an easy win Zach hurried on to round 2 where he would face Eiganjo. Zach squeezed out a win only to come face to face with the second ranked player in the world, Wolfey. Wolfey gave Zach another challenging game, but Zach was still able to defeat the two-time Masters US National Champion and Worlds runner-up riding on the back of his Mamoswine. Zach’s semifinals matchup was against the legendary drcossack, in a matchup that surprised outsider observers who never expected to see drcossack participating in tournament play. Though drcossack came prepared in case of a rematch with foodking2win, who took him out early in the last live tournament, he was not prepared for Zach, who defeated drcossack to move to the finals. Zach’s opponent was none other than two-time Seniors US National Champion Cybertron, who has consistently placed well in the Circuit, making his first appearance in the finals. It was a tough match between two worthy challengers, but in the end there could be only one champion: Masters US National Top 8 and Madision Regional Champion Zach. Thanks to everyone who participated, and congrats again to Zach! In an effort to be more accommodating to more people, we’re going to begin holding the WiFi Live Tournaments on alternating Sundays and Thursdays. Because of this, the next WiFi Live Tournament will be held on Sunday, September the 30th at 7 pm EST. Find more details on our forums. Hope to see you there!
