2013 International Challenge — June

The final International Challenge of the VGC ’13 season is upon us! With 11th to 13th place in North America tied and the live events in Europe over, there has never been as much at stake as there is now. Additionally, everyone who participates in at least 5 battles and doesn’t get disqualified for disconnecting will receive 5 Apicot Berries, 5 Petaya Berries, and 5 Ganlon Berries.

Just a small mistake but it’s the other way around, number of disconnections divided by total amt. of battles.

Good catch, thanks. Idek how I messed that up.

  2. Scott says:

Do disconnections at the trainer card count as a DC?
Most likely (“most of the time” is the correct way to put this if the program is understood correctly). Again, the people who know more about this are pretty convinced that these do, but we don’t know for sure afaik (or should this be afaidk here?). Count these in your DC total as well.

I’d actually be really surprised if these do count, since I had a ton the tournament where my DC rate ignoring them was the highest and still didn’t get DQed.

I’ve also only run during a few battles against obvious DCers when my rating wasn’t particularly high (one of which apparently wasn’t a DCer and uploaded the 0 turn battle to VSplayer…) early in tournaments and haven’t been DQed this season. Not DCing and having mostly stable internet has been a good strategy so far. I have accidentally hit that Wi-Fi switch a couple times, though, and am vaguely curious if there’s a way I can remove the switch so I don’t have to worry about it…

  3. bearsfan092 says:

Maybe consider putting a small strip of tape over the wifi switch?

How quickly does one have to register for these challenges? I tried to register for the April challenge the morning after registration opened and it wouldn’t let me register.

Any time during the registration period works. They don’t fill up.

  7. Okay, count me in.  Sakuma from None (because I move every so often).  I will be using my new team that I actually put some thought into.  It can counter Dive Cats, Breloom, Trick Room, Rain, Sand, Hail, and almost any other key strategies.  I mainly just have to use good prediction against goodstuff teams.  Soooo ready.

  8. Has anyone been able to register their team? I haven’t been able to try it myself but some other people I’ve talked to have been having problems.

  9. Chiron says:

I’ll be in this suffering because I have the almost the same time zone as Japan. Yay for constant Japanese.

    Dan from Sydney, NSW
My trainer message is some about about eruptions and grandmothers or girls and swallowing.

I’ll be using a Sand Team is anyone comes across me.

  17. Oldman says:

I’ve just signed up as well using team of Zapdos Abomasnow Chandelure Suicune Metagross Scrafty. However as I’m away for three days climbing Tatra Mountains in Poland, I doubt that the Wifi reception will be any good on top of Morskie Oko to undertake many battles

  18. foodking2win says:

  20. pball0010 says:

Well, considering I’ve got my summer senior project to do finish on Friday and something to do the following Saturday, I should have no time for this.

Going to enter anyway. PatBall from West Virginia with a new team and a new message: “I can handle BRELOOM”

  21. TBFBri10 says:

“No competitions have been found for you to participate in. In Battle Competition, you cannot participate in the same competition twice.”

Does this mean that the limit of participants has already been reached? There’s still two days left. I hope it’s just a server error.

  22. mattj says:

Nah.  That just means the competition hasn’t started yet.  It always says that.

  23. joeyrolls says:

is registration for this still open? the wifi comp doesnt apepar on my global link page?

I think my name is Chubby(male symbol), Hiker, from British Columbia, Canada.

  27. MrFox says:

Might play in this with an old team, or something fun, but probably not going to do anything serious with this one.  I just don’t like these tournaments.

  28. Recon X says:

Argghh! My ds card slot broke so I sent it in for repairs. I’m hoping to get it back in time to play in this tournament.
