VGC ’13 Championship Points Update: Spring Regionals & International Challenge — April

Two events that award CP happened in April and finished updating around the same time. This is a particularly important update for Europe as we now have a finalized list of who has byes going into the Italy National Championships! Additionally, North America only has one International Challenge left before the US National Championships.

North American players within 110 CP of 12th Place are included on this list. 110 CP is the amount gained for a Top 8 finish as the US National Championships. European players with enough CP to be in the Top 16 are included on their respective lists. A Top 16 placement is required for a bye at the National Championships (a tie for 16th means all players tied in 16th get the bye).

    Seniors Mistakes:

    8. Cameron S = Drizzleboy

    9. Ian McLaughlin = Raikoo’s younger brother, does not have his own account.

    14. Darrin C = Ninten678

    18. Cedric B = Talon

  2. samgei says:

Well my aim was to get T16 even though I’m not going to Italy or Germany, and I did that so i’m still pretty happy!  :D

Well done to everybody and good luck to you all in the coming weeks and months as we head towards Nationals and Worlds!

Had it right last time. Not sure what my brain did while updating. In any case, leaving Drizzleboy until he himself explains to me what’s going on with his CP as he’s on there twice. I just kept him attached to the name he used last time.

Updated! Your username suddenly makes a lot of sense! :P

  5. Hurricane says:

Guys, I know Ian McLaughlin. He IS Raikoo. He has a younger brother though.

  6. Scott says:

Pretty sure he just lied about that not being him to avoid getting COPPA banned when we were on Smogon

  7. LudiImpact says:

US Seniors 8. CardPlayer is Elite4Allen

  8. woopahking says:

Hmmmm, I send in a support ticket and they still think I’m from USA…hopefully I can get this changed soon but it’s not too big of an issue as I’m not gonna be at Milan. Also, Ian McLaughlin is a very good friend of mine and does not have an older brother, he is Raikoo.

  9. bcaralarm says:

Does anybody know how to actually claim my bye at Milan? Do I just let the person signing me up that I am due to receive a bye or go talk to the judges making the brackets?

Let them know when you’re registering at the event (giving them your name, age, and player ID). They’ll have a list of players who have byes and will cross-reference that.

  11. Senior14 says:

    Aniello Iuliano = Senior 14. I’m 7th XD

I just had my player ID’s merged and something went wrong so there is two of me lol

  14. Hurricane says:

Is there any way to change the Game Sync ID to another profile? I’m using my mom’s account because of Confusion…

  15. Drizzleboy says:

Yes there is. I had mine switched twice because I put them on the wrong account.

  16. Hurricane says:

    How do you do it?

  17. Technoz says:

    ????????

    Erick bowen is futuremaster -.-.

AND i am not on the list ( i won regionals -.-).

    Seniors division for both.

  18. LPFan says:

Guys, I know Ian McLaughlin. He IS Raikoo. He has a younger brother though.

That kid had me fooled! I knew he didn’t have an older brother.

And Technoz, sending a support ticket to TPIC to get your problem fixed always helps.

  19. Technoz says:

KK, How lol? It would be my first time.

  20. Drizzleboy says:

    How do you do it?

    Send a support ticket.

  21. AlphaZealot says:

    1. Go to External.
    2. Sign in using your Trainer Club account.
    3. Select Ask a Question.

    Common issues:

    • You will not display in the rankings or be eligible for Championship Points based prizes if you have not chosen, in your Trainer Club Account settings, to opt into the Play! Pokémon program.
    • If you did not have a Player ID at the time rankings were pulled for a Wi-Fi tournament (e.g. within a day or two of the tournaments completion) then you cannot retroactively be added to said Wi-Fi tournaments rankings if you signed up for a Player ID at a later date.
    • If you did not have a Player ID when you attended a Regional VG tournament, you were given a card with a Player ID and a PIN#. After the tournament, you will need to link this ID to your Trainer Club Account (in your profile settings), and if you do not have a Trainer Club Account, you will need to make one at this time if you wish to opt into the Play! Pokémon program. This is an issue with several VG Top 8 players (and downward) from Regionals, including a winner, and especially in the Junior and Senior divisions.

I’ve wondered why the Houston Jr’s winner has not shown up in the rankings.  He won in Houston last year too, and we’ve seen him at Nat’ls before, so I figured he already had a Play! Pokemon account.  I don’t know him or his family; my son only knows him from VGC events.  Also, one of my son’s friends attended Athens with us and has yet to set up an account for the 70 points he won at the Athens Regional.  I gave the card and sign-up info to his dad.  I imagine there are a number of unclaimed points out there that will (or may be) still claimed before Nationals.  I assume the Region winners and those in other places who won points can still claim their points by creating a Trainer Club Account and opting in.  I just feel for the kids whose parents aren’t in the loop and misplaced or never have thought about that card their kids got when they entered a Regional tournament.

  23. dodgson says:

Also, the North America top-16 AND the regionals top-2s get Nationals byes. There are nine more opted-in Juniors with 120 or 110 CP, probably all of them byes.
