2013 International Challenge — June
The final International Challenge of the VGC ’13 season is upon us! With 11th to 13th place in North America tied and the live events in Europe over, there has never been as much at stake as there is now. North American players will be trying to get the lead they need to best secure an invite at the US National Championships while players within 10 points of the Top 32 spot in Europe will try to ensure they keep that elusive invite to the 2013 Pokémon World Championships. Additionally, everyone who participates in at least 5 battles and doesn’t get disqualified for disconnecting will receive 5 Apicot Berries, 5 Petaya Berries, and 5 Ganlon Berries.

Ruleset
Prizes
- All players who end up on the final rankings (are not disqualified and have at least 5 matches recorded as played) will receive 5 Apicot Berries, 5 Petaya Berries, and 5 Ganlon Berries.
- The top 128 players in North America and the top 128 players in Europe in each age division (Juniors, Seniors, and Masters) will receive an undetermined amount of Championship Points that will count towards qualifying for the 2013 Pokémon World Championships in Vancouver, BC, Canada
Age Divisions
- Junior Division: Born in 2002 or later
- Senior Division: Born in 1998, 1999, 2000, or 2001
- Master Division: Born in 1997 or earlier
Requirements
You must be using a Pokémon Black 2 or Pokémon White 2 game card to participate in these tournaments. You must also have a Pokémon Global Link account synced to your game card. You must have a Player ID linked to your account to receive Championship Points.
Disconnections
You must play 5 full games to be ranked on the ladder and receive your berries.. Those who do not finish their battles and disconnect to try and save their record may lose their placing on the ladder as well as receive a ban in future WiFi competitions.

Not a good start so far, had some bad luck an sitting on a 16-5 probably a score of around 1600 still with 6 DC’s which would’ve increased my rating but what did we expect? A wifi IC with no DC’ing….dont make me laugh lol. But yeah hoping for better results later

My DC rate is getting a little better (I’m having a harder time with the whole “you still have to win to get points” thing), but I’m kind of at least amused by the DCs I’m getting at this point. 4 in 26 games so far, which other than the one with Abaris where he obviously didn’t mean to DC has consisted of a guy with all sub 50 Pokemon DCing as his last Pokemon died, and a guy spamming Outrage DCing as his last Pokemon died,, and a 1500 player who got 4-0d DCing as his last Pokemon was about to die. It’s like, lol, I know everyone has different goals with these things, but it’s just funny to see DCs in these games since none of those last three are going to finish much above 1500 anyway… it’s not like Aaron is DCing on me to try to jump me in CP or whatever, it’s people who are going to have a hard time beating anyone. I just don’t get some people…

This DC stuff is why I can’t take the wi-fi tourneys seriously and barely take the live competitions as serious as I used to. It just killed all of my fun so I’m in it to get berries lol. I’m I think 3-1-1 (DC). The highlight was definitely losing to a mono poison team and winning against a pretty poor team that, for some reason, made a REALLY bad play on the final turn. I think I should probably make a new team for nationals

I’ve been getting a ton of sub-1500’s, and just had a really close game due to hax with a 1403 (ASH from Illinois?). I’ve decided my goal is to break 1700 because this is the only one of these I’ve trying in, but for now I’m going to take a break.
14W-3L-2D/C (yay I’m keeping track this time). Rating should be about 1630-1650 (I lost at 1644 and then won right after, so I’ll see what that looks like later when I log back on). Will get up into the 1700s by the end of the day.
It’s been a slow start, fighting some tough opponents from the get-go. Seen a lot of Sableye, and Japan loves those Politoed/Kingdra cores.
Here is an interesting battle where I make a huge comeback, I was starting to feel the effects of playing until 3 AM: 94-50101-81378 (can’t seem to access Pcheck VS Player atm). He was over 50 points higher than me, good for him for not ragequitting.
i’m 15-1-1 i think? i’ve had some DCs after the Sending data… screen, but I still got those wins so I think things are okay.
only loss was to a protect/sub/DT/toxic gliscor in sand.. still could have won despite the BS but it probably would have went to time. meh.

Going to drop at 31-5 with 4 DCs, somewhere around 1720. Not really into this, playing many battles that just aren’t close, whether it’s a sub 1500 or 1600. I’ve had like 3 games I genuinely enjoyed and learned about my team, just isn’t worth it.

Just faced someone named UR MOM from Minnesota. Their team of 6 included a Yanma and a Level 43 Snorlax. Shockingly, they didn’t disconnect.
Doing much worse today, but I haven’t lost to anyone terrible. I actually defeated the highest rated person that I faced in the tournament (1660).
confusion has not been kind to me in this tournament.. coin flip away from knocking off food king argh
