    I know I said this once before, but I think I’d really like to be done for real this time. 5 intentional DCs against me, one on preview and 2 more on the trainer card puts me at 8 in 35 games so far. I know sometimes the bar seems like it’s only in the 18-19% range so it’s not completely unrecoverable, but I wouldn’t feel safe at 18% and even to get down to that point from here I’d need 10 games in a row without a DC. My rating is pretty terrible right now too, so I still need a big chunk of games, and the longer I have to play into the weekend, the more likely I am to get more DCs. This whole thing is pretty irritating this close to the end, since actually getting some CP from this vastly increases my odds of making it to Worlds, as while I’m in 2nd right now Stephen is only 1 point behind me, Duy is 2, and Aaron is 4, and while I don’t think Duy plays in these, Aaron and Stephen will definitely pass me if I get DQed. I feel like +80 and +110 are also pretty nice marks to be over other people to reduce the odds of getting passed at Nationals and I have people around both of those marks from me, too (Cory -83, Kamz -84, Smith -112, JiveTime -116).

    I feel like the odds of me actually getting my DC low enough that I even managed not to get DQed at this point are pretty low, which would at least prevent me from falling below 5th going into Nationals, but this tournament has been a fun reminder so far why I haven’t particularly enjoyed this season at all for reasons other than just how expensive it’s been even though to this point the Wi-Fi gods have been pretty good to me.

    Fun stats:
    Intentional DCs: 1472, 1513, 1505, 1500, 1602
    Preview DCs: 1499
    Trainer Card DCs: 1500, 1445
    Average Rating: 1504.5

    Not super amused by the fact I’m in hot water from a bunch of people who had made zero progress.

    I was gonna play in this but…it’s a wifi tournament so yeah.

  3. Thowra says:

    Lol saw a specs thundurus-i – how often do you encounter that? Anyway the trainer promptly dc’d on me when I beat his boring bog standard rain team. I can only hope in gen vi there are even stricter rules in place that make dc’s count as auto loss…

  4. Kyoto says:

    Just fought a Daniel from Cali. GG whoever you are.

    Has anything cool come out of this yet like dive cats?

    haha thats me. GG

  7. Kyoto says:

    @Kermit I guess i ended your undefeated streak :D

  8. Carl says:

    nope, just cutter birds

  9. Fatum says:

    Ok, so I have 31 wins, 4 losses and 8 disconnects 22 hours into it, rated 1736. That’s an unsually high DC ratio for the beginning, don’t know yet what to make out of that… Also 4-1 against fellow NB users, 0-0 against fellow Germans and still few Japanese for me just like always pretty much. :( Just keep playing I guess, I do feel a bit more comfortable with my team than in the last ones after all. A lot could have gone worse with my Draco Meteor being the most inaccurate since long ago.

  10. PM649 says:

    Osirus, I think I just battled you. My OT is Alec, and I’m from California.

    gg man, great match, though I was confused with that last play you made with landorus.

  11. LPFan says:

    Currently 62-9-22, just broke 1800s. Praying to god that I don’t get DQed, I’ll be playing some more later on and hopefully disconnectors won’t be disconnectors.

    Yeah gg man, and that last turn was bit weird I know, I really needed to lay the ground work for your last mon in the back, I thought you would have protected with gross to get Landorous out the picture, plus that and I fear’d the Fully para (which happened lol) on volc if I e-quaked so yeah, in theory it could have been good but looking back it was just bad…never mind, well played and good luck in the rest of your matches :)

  13. Lati says:

    Stopping for today at about 1600 with 7-1-3

    This day was just strange… I felt like I´d be in the Subway: Misses, crits… luck effects everywhere. And the strangely high number of sets like Double Team Toxic Mandibuzz and Outrage Haxorus only adds to the feel. Not only that but I´ve also seen 2 Ferrothorns already and strangely haven´t lost against neither one of those even though my team can be easily dismantled by one with smart playing… Oh well.^^

    Memorable moments:

    -Double Team Toxic Mandibuzz: No words, just a vid: External
    -A guy with an underleveled team in the 1300ies dcing on me R1… lol
    -Some other guy who ran Monowater+Ferrothorn
    -The “mood for a Wifi-tournament” lead: Rage Sharpedo and Outrage Haxorus xD
    -Some guy who carried Taunt on his Thundurus-I but for some reason thought it´s be better to spam T-Wave on my TR inducer even though he revealed the Taunt… He T-Waved everything and got at least 1 FP every round ;_;
    -A pretty epic match against someone named “Ryan” with no location who probably is registered here: I pulled out the win regardless of the horrible matchup.^^ (Well, gotta say that I got into a bad position after a RS flinch, followed by a RS crit only to screw him over again with a RS miss. xD ) (RS = worst move in the game)

    The coolest thing I’ve seen so far(I talked about it on IRC) was Belly Drum Politoed+Psych Up Zen Headbutt Cress+Psych Up Metagross. I barely won against the guy because of a 50/50 play last turn. I accidentally clicked not to save the video when that was probably the only match I would’ve wanted to save this tourney, but you can see it here: External He also had Eject Button Amoonguss from what I played.

  15. joej m says:

    yeah so i just found plusle… and then my internet hiccups… thats 2 NB seniors i would love to battle… welp

    EDIT:
    @plusle i was outrage
    sorry ;~;
    I was in my room (which has crud connection), and decided to get the heck out of my room before my connection goes capowpow… but that didn’t help a thing did it

    Oh my gosh I played that guy right before the IC on Ranked GBU.  Fun team

  17. hockeyguy605 says:

    Just faced someone who was trying to race to the bottom. They had a quality team (Thundurus-I, Tyranitar, Cresselia, Conkeldurr, Metagross, and Gastrodon), but were only rated 829. They forfeited first turn.

    It’s fine, I got kicked off Wifi as well.

    HAs everyone been kicked in the last 10 mins or just me. Keep getting error code 61010!!!

    I need to battle now my rating sucks  :wacko:

  20. Thowra says:

    Just faced someone named UR MOM from Minnesota. Their team of 6 included a Yanma and a Level 43 Snorlax. Shockingly, they didn’t disconnect.

    Doing much worse today, but I haven’t lost to anyone terrible. I actually defeated the highest rated person that I faced in the tournament (1660).

    Hey I think I faced that team as well – I kind of felt bad beating them though, it was not really a fair match.

    I also faced someone who only brought 4 ‘mons, all dragons. Surprisingly the dragon I’ve faced the most is flygon – I’ve seen about 6 different teams with flygon.

    Does anyone know what percentage of dc’s get you disqualified? I’ve had 11 dc’s in 39 matches and I’m getting worried that I wont get ranked :(

    I don’t think a disconnection rate of anything more than 20% is safe

  22. DaWoblefet says:

    I just got a really lucky battle in against Fatum. He missed Meteor Mash and Zen Headbutt and made one or two misplays, and I won 3-0 without Fatum seeing my 4th Pokemon (which was Latios). Yes, my luck is back!

  23. TKOWL says:

    Just got DC’d on three times in a row until I finally found a workable battle, yeah there’s no way I’m getting ranked in this

  24. Shadual says:

    Currently at 23-1-11…I’m going to get DQed and I know it. *sigh*

  25. samgei says:

    Currently at 12-2-3, 1624 rating so not going too badly. Hoping to get quite a few games in tomorrow and minimal DCs of course. Seen so many Samurott/Lucario it’s insane. Also Counter Tyranitar was a cool thing, luckily didn’t manage to hit me with it though.

  26. ZeroVirus says:

    Hey guys.  Trying to learn the doubles format so I’m ready to potentially compete next season and it’s been going pretty well so far.  Currently at 17-1-5 and 1684.  I’ve played one guy from Chile, one guy from Mexico, and 8 guys from Japan.  Only loss so far was to a Sigilyph, hate that thing.

  27. Recon X says:

    Still haven’t had a chance to play. Oh well, I always start these Wifi tournaments late anyway.

  28. Chiron says:

    Currently at 19 Wins and 4 Loses. Somewhere around 1630. Doing alright I guess. Would like to hit 1700

  29. Dan says:

    Currently sitting at 1734, 36-5-5. Running into Biosci twice in a row was unpleasant haha.

  30. joej m says:

    at 1879 points with a record of: 65-5-14
    this will be the last hour of the marathon, then i’ll get little play on vacation. it was a lot of fun marathoning though ^.^
