First VGC ’14 Regional Date and Locations Revealed (Updated)

Players who aren’t able to make it out to the 2013 Pokémon World Championships might already be looking towards the 2013 – 2014 season. The Premier Tournament Organizers seem to be on the same train of thought because a little bit of digging on the Pokémon website reveals that three locations have already booked their venues and have event details up! The first Regional of the VGC ’14 season will happen on October 27th, 2013. This date is just over two weeks after the release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y.

Update: It looks like we’re going to get at least two dates for the fall as the NorCal Regional will be taking place on October 13th, 2013 — one day after the release of Pokémon X and Y. Event locations known so far are:

October 13th, 2013

Pleasanton, California

Alameda County Fairgrounds (Building C)
4501 Pleasanton Avenue
94566

October 27th, 2013

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Convention Center (Terrace Ballroom)
1101 Arch Street
19107

Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Grand Wayne Center Anthony Wayne Ballroom
120 West Jefferson Boulevard
46802

Houston, Texas

Hilton Houston North
12400 Greenspoint Drive
77060

If we have fifteen locations split across three seasons like the current season, we still have one location left. All four of these areas also hosted Regional Championships in the fall last year. If the same pattern holds, the last event will be in Toronto.

…where did you hear about the Phoenix Regional please?

I dunno whether to leap with joy or keep the tin foil hat back on since I can’t find it.

  2. Huy says:

Arizona’s PTO announced it on Facebook.

Yeah, I just emailed her after seeing it posted here and just got a reply back too (I’m not a Facebook guy, so I never saw it lol).

Excited and now panicking since that means a month to throw together a good team. Probably at the convention center I guess?

  4. josetron says:

Hi nuggetbridge for anybody going to philadelphia regionals i found a cheap place (apple hostels) for $36.00 dollars a night per person  ,it is  just 15 min walk to convention center here is the link External

Yea they confirmed the convention center already, same place as 2010 regionals.

  6. Braverius says:

Have there been any ramblings beyond pure guessing of an Ontario Regional? Not sure if any planning has gone into that yet, or if we’re just going to have five regionals this time around.

  7. Cybertron says:

Heard from a TCG source that it is during the winter via the TO but no confirmation.

  8. Firestorm says:

Doubt they’re going to have 7 regionals in October.

Seattle is getting a Regional at the Washington State Convention Center on April 5th/6th.

    Let’s do this.

This is the sort of thing I don’t like commenting on before I get an explanation, as it tends to wind up with my foot in my mouth

  12. R Inanimate says:

Explaination has been given, the pitchforks can go away.
3-4 hours away as the closest event should be more than reasonable for people to reach. And Seattle is a pretty nice city to visit as well.

  13. bearsfan092 says:

I’m actually interested in going to Seattle, particularly if the northeast spring regional isn’t particularly close to Pittsburgh.  Seattle is in my top 3 cities in the U.S. and I have a ton of family in the area.

  14. dingram says:

Change of plans, I am most likely going to Houston. Cheaper flights at more convenient times.

While it’s not a date and location, at least we know the Missouri Regional will be ran by the same guys in January.

The hall monitor guy’s coming back? Uh-oh

EDIT: just remembered that my roaming powers will be taking me to the Northeast regionals, which’ll likely end up being more disorganized than Missouri. So I won’t have to deal with the hall monitor guy, but will have to suffer through a much worse organized tournament. Welp.

I know where I won’t be this winter!

    So ready

  19. Aiya says:

This season is looking to be pretty good so far! I wish TPCI would do more to advertise these events though, instead of relying mostly on TOs to announce them. Fall regionals begin in a month and it’d be nice to at least get some exposure on the news page of Pokemon.com to let people know about them.

  20. josetron says:

hey ladies and gents just want to update that virginia regionals will happen in doswell VA on January 11 and 12 event created in facebook  by David Tuskey a pokemon organizer  External

  21. BlaqJstr says:

Philly is my Hometown and I just love it when TPCI run thru. Hopefully this year I can put a few faces to the screen names. Anybody from philly actually goin to Regionals? Seem like I’m the only player in the city

  22. Griffinbane says:

Several folks from Philly are going, me being one of them. You can compare the people attending in http://nuggetbridge.com/forums/topic/2293-vgc-14-pennsylvania-regional-october-27th-2013/ and the people in http://nuggetbridge.com/forums/topic/606-player-location-thread-by-stateprovince/ together and sorta connect the dots. There’s at least another 4 residents (well, temporary residents anyway) from Philly going who’s not on the list maybe not.

  23. BlaqJstr says:

cool didnt know i could pre register ever. everything is done now so all i gotta do is prep my team thanks for the directional advice
