Rosters can still change between now and the end of mid-season due to trades and mid-season auction pickups, so be sure to keep your eyes out for that. The leftover credits that teams have can be used during mid-season to purchase players that were maybe looked over or possible replacements. Players can also end up getting sold back at mid-season for 3/4th of their cost in the auction.

And that should be everything! Keep your eye out on the online tournament forum for updates of the season.

I would have loved to play, but I guess I don’t have any notable acomplishments hehe

Is there gonna be a stream every round or just battle vids?

  2. Cyrus says:

Congrats to everyone who made the draft! I am proud and excited to be representing the Castelia Cones. Looking forward to a great season.

But you stole those from the Chargers that lost! :( :D

Cones vs. Islanders final match for eternal winter, let’s get it. We obviously win because we have the better logo. :P

  14. Scott says:

Something I think might be good advice for the people who didn’t get drafted here:

I think if you look at the people who signed up and the people got drafted, there were maybe a total of like 40 people who could go either way, about 80 people who were definitely going to get drafted, and the rest probably really never had much of a shot. If you’re one of the remaining majority of the signups, here’s what to do for next year to move on up:

    1. Only about 100 players get drafted. As a result, you need to convince one of the managers you’re not just a serviceable player, but you’re at least close to one of the best 100 players available… which includes almost everyone outside of Japan. This is why stuff like “I did sort of OK on Showdown or in a Wi-Fi tournament” isn’t going to sell many managers on you. Who would really pick that over people who won Regionals or Nationals or placed well in Worlds or whatever? Your real life circuit success is a big deal and you need to take those events seriously. If you can’t go 7-2 at a couple real life events, you’re not going to put up a winning record in NPA against the best players in the world.
    2. Barring that, doing well online matters. Almost everyone who made the NB Invitational is on a team. Even online, you’re competing against the players who will end up in the NPA. If you prove you can hang with them, you have a much better case for being drafted. There were several players I identify as people who only seem to be good online who still got drafted for this tournament.
    3. Personality is a huge deal. Managers are going to draft players they know they can get along with, unless you are so good you might be worth some headaches… in which case, you’re already on a team and don’t need this post. Making friends with some managers is a big deal, but that doesn’t mean sucking up to people a month before NPA. What it means is getting to know people through the course of the year and proving you’re intelligent and mature. I see a lot of people try to butter up the managers shortly before the tournament, and it doesn’t make you appealing, it just makes you look desperate. I’d say it’s like dating, but most of you aren’t going to understand what I mean by that… The goal here should be to be someone people enjoy being around and respect.
  15. Lajo says:

I can see the winners in the draft being the teams who have more than 6 players, and strong ones, too.
Feels a bit nostalgic seeing the team of the Chargers and Islanders with the majority of their old members being there again, too.
So, what if one of the 6-players teams have an issues with one of their players not being able to play? I hope all of their players are reliable!
I´m glad the Splashes won´t have this issue, and it´s quite cool to see 2 fellow german players being in the same team like me(that eases practicing, really). Let´s go Splashes! 🙂

  16. PrettyLittleLiar says:

At midseason does the player minimum stay at 3000? Or would it make sense to switch it to 1500 because there is only half a season remaining?

  17. Benster says:

This looks like fun, go Stars and Elite!

Maybe one day I can make a name for myself and get on one of these teams in future years 😛

  18. soulofaetherym says:

    Let’s go Brave Birds! :]

  19. Alaka says:

At midseason does the player minimum stay at 3000? Or would it make sense to switch it to 1500 because there is only half a season remaining?

Pretty sure it stays at 3000.

  20. Pumpkinlord says:

I’m officially excited. Rays not on a team? oh wait he is a manager right?

  21. DerrickLeeLY says:

Just wondering when will the games be played? Any schedule on time? Channel?

  22. Hibiki says:

Just wondering when will the games be played? Any schedule on time? Channel?

Players schedule matches with each other. Those capable of streaming are encouraged to do so, and I believe those who do announce it in the weekly threads in the Online Tournaments subboard.

  23. TwiddleDee says:

I’m officially excited. Rays not on a team? oh wait he is a manager right?

Yes, Ray is the manager of the Hearthrome Holy Spirits.

  24. Sleepy12 says:

It’s gonna be Spirits vs Rollouts in the finals with the Seafoam in third I’m calling it right now. Rollout a all the way Falco I got money on you and I’m a subscriber don’t fail me

  25. Et3rnal13 says:

It’s going to be super exciting to watch this unfold. I was pretty excited to see it once it got announced. I’d like to see that Spirits vs Rollouts match-up as well, although I’m rooting for the Spirits more than anything.

Also, that’s pretty useful advice too Scott, thanks.

  26. Bopper says:
