Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Announced for November 2014 Release
Today, we received some surprising news about new games in the Pokémon franchise for release later this year in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. They are widely believed to be remakes of the third generation games which nobody expected at all. We have no information on the titles outside the release date which is planned for November 2014 as a worldwide release, much like Pokémon X and Y. Also like Pokémon X and Y, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International seem to have dropped the word “Version” from the titles of the games.
Nintendo says that, “Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are a fresh take on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, which launched in 2003 and were fan-favorite hits on the Game Boy Advance system. The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.”
With a November 2014 release, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will not make it in time for the first Regional Championships of the VGC ’15 season in October. Like the VGC ’13 and VGC ’14 seasons, we expect to play using Pokémon X and Y at the fall regionals before switching to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire after mid-December. Keep in mind that the VGC ’15 season will be the first year we will hopefully have events on a regular basis if the current Premier Challenge pilot program pans out. It remains to be seen how long that Play! Pokémon decides is sufficient before sanctioned events switch to the new games.

Similarly, Blaziken’s Sp. Atk stat is the same as Lucario’s Atk stat. Therefore, since Mega Blaziken’s special attack went up by 20, Mega Lucario’s attack stat will go up by 20.

The secret bases look cool and could be eving hotspots like in the original games also, I hope we can set VGC style battles. Along with secret bases we got a new character who apparently owns a flygon. Does this mean my dreams of mega flygon are still alive?
Considering how obsessive both sides are in using Wailmer to blockade stuff, I wouldn’t be surprised.
About speculation on the stats of Mega Sceptile, I’ve noticed that most (if not all) Megas had their stats boosted by a total of 100.
But wailord is not evil enough to be a bad pokemon. Sure he’s fat but he’s not evil at all

No confirmed ability or type yet but it looks amazing! What ability/type do I think it will have?
Personally I think it will become a steel fighting unlikely but the arms have changed to resemble fists the ability possibly levitate.

I’ve heard rumours that somone translated the scan and that the ability is Tough Claws, but I dont think its been confirmed yet. If that was true…I assume it would power up Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt and Hammer Arm as they’re all contact moves?
So when I first saw the 5 new pikachus, I thought they were new forms but after thinking about it they obviously have something to do with contest because they represent the 5 contest stats from gen3/4.
I didn’t really think about that, but it makes a lot of sense. Each of them even has a lot of the color of their corresponding contest category in their design
Mega Metagross will have base 165 Attack. This is why, Tyranitar has base 134 Attack. Mega Tyranitar has base 164 Attack. Metagross has base 135 Attack. Like Tyranitar, his attack will probably be boosted by 30 points. This also means Salamence, who also has base 135 Attack, will possibly also have 165 Attack if he gets a mega. Speculation complete.
So apparently Mega Diancie gets Magic Bounce. It’ll be interesting to see how that plays out in Ubers.

Megagross will have: 120 base speed! Of course this is pure speculation but… This thing could seriously hurt everything! And with lots of powa! Personally I’m hopping for a 65/150/155/95/120/100 stats but 120 speed? :0!
I just came out to randomly speculate base stats and I’m honestly feeling so attacked right now.

Gentlefish, yeah I get what your saying. But when he first responded to me about my speculation on Mega Sceptile, I didn’t notice he was being sarcastic. When he said I was a genius, I thought he meant it as a compliment. It was my second speculation post on Mega Metagross when I realized he was being sarcastic. I just wish he wasn’t being a smug, disrespectful jerk about it.
I apologize for not controlling my sarcasm better. I don’t think the more recent post was that bad, but the first one was pretty bad, yeah.
